As far as our hobby is concerned it dates back to antiquity in some form or another. From the ancient Mayans to today's collectors pipes have been one of mankind's diversions for many centuries.

As pipe collectors we are a diverse group from all walks of life and all parts of our planet. Let me say that there is no such thing as a perfect pipe for everyone. One persons treasure wouldn't rate a second look from some other collector. A pipe can cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars or as little as a few dollars from the local flea market. The beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.

My taste tend towards Dunhill's, Barling's, Comoy's and Charatans. I enjoy the hunt for older pipes in these brands. I like these brands  from the 1920's through the 1950's . Those years are by far have the best quality and fine smoking characteristics.
