My Egyptian Collection
I collect Egyptian figurines, dolls, jewelry - anything
Egyptian. I have devoted my bedroom to my Egyptian artifacts. Most of my
Egyptian figurines have come from the Franklin Mint, but I buy dolls whereever
I can find them. Some from catalogs, some from Home Shopping Club's doll
shows, some from Museum shops. I love the elegance and mystery of the
ancient Egyptians, their Gods and Godesses and beliefs.
This photo shows the Franklin Mint Isis on the left, Tonner's Esme dressed as Cleopatra, an 11.5" Susie Queen of the Nile doll from R&D Collectibles in Taiwan and another Cleopatra from the Franklin Mint, this one in dark skin porcelain by Maryse Nicole.
This photo shows the Franklin Mint Nefertiti and Selket, Madam Alexanders 10" Cissette Cleopatra and 8" Pandora as well as World Dolls 12" vinyl Cleopatra and on the far right in blue, the Danbury Mint Hepshetsut released in 1989. She comes with a falcon and an Egyptian cat.
The shelf contains small Egyptian figures. Below the shelf the dolls consist of porcelain dolls from the Home Shopping Network by artists like William Tung and Pat Loveless. Alexanders's Cissy Cairo is seated next to Kish's Electra, Elizabet Bizelle, Julia Roman Empress vinyl doll from the Franklin Mint.
The 30" Cleopatra is porcelain and from the Home Shopping Network. William Tung's Queen of Sheba is in burgundy velvet and dark skin. In the back is Pat Loveless' Kamisha Kwanza doll. The 10" doll in front is Alexander's Cissette Kwanza African doll.
Cissy Cairo is seated. Elizabet Bizelle in the purple gown (she reminds me of an Egyptian Queen, so she is displayed here) Kish's Electra and Franklin Mint's Julia Roman Empress vinyl fashion doll complete this shelf.
This shelf shows a porcelain 16" doll called Aida by Rustie. Ginny as the Queen of the Nile, Mattel's Liz Taylor Cleopatra, a vintage 1957 PMA doll dressed in Egyptian style, 12" Alexander Cleopatra with the 2 Gemini twins in dark skin by Alexander. Barbie as Cleopatra and Barbie as Roman Empress on the far right.
