My name is Michelle but my husband sometimes calls me shellebaby. This in turn caught on with our close friends. So hence the nickname. Yes, I'm happily married, we're now into our 18th year of marriage. We have four beautiful children, a son who is twenty, twin girls who just turned eighteen and the youngest girl is fourteen. So we are pretty busy, we just moved back to Texas(after being gone 16 1/2 years)our home state, we've bought a home in the country, what we always wanted. Our son lives in Albuquerque and the girls are all enjoying their new schools.
We've lived in Iceland and that was a wonderful experience for us all. We hope to return one day. Iceland is a wonderous place with ever changing landscapes. We lived there for three years and I could have stayed forever. For those of you who believe Iceland to be a cold and desolate place you couldn't be more wrong. Iceland is the land of "Fire and Ice". There are beautiful mountains and the largest glacier in Europe is there. If you happen to get the National Geographic there is an article in the May 97 issue on the volcano that erupted under Vatnajokull glacier. We were there at the time, really exciting, the eruption was on the East Coast and we lived on the West Coast. So we weren't affected by it. They have volcanos, active and extinct. You can ski and snowmobile or bike and hike around the country. You can camp by a waterfall with the cleanest, purest water in the world. This Island is completely heated geothermaly even the swimming pools which alot of them are outdoors. I can go on and on but I'll let you look for yourself in the links below. I promise you will be surprised and maybe even want to see it for yourself one day.
I have many interests, and I love to have friends over and visit over a great cup of hot tea or iced if the weather is extremely hot. One of my many interests is my families genealogy which I have listed on my genealogy page. I used to teach three and four year olds at our church in Alamogordo, during AWANA's(Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed - taken from 2 Timothy 2:15). This is a great group that teaches children about Christ that otherwise might not get to learn or know Christ. I love teaching this age group because they are so innocent and it is so filling when they know by memory a verse and are so thrilled to have learned it. My husband and I also taught the high school kids Sunday school class on Sunday's.
Since moving back to Texas, we attend Santa Fe Road Babtist Church in Weatherford. It's a great little family church, wonderful people.
My other many interests include cooking(I love a great recipe);I enjoy making my own cards with stamps, plus my newest hobby is scrapbooking which I really enjoy since I have tons of pictures and need to get them organized; I have a great teddy
bear collection nothing like a bear to cheer you up; I have a spoon collection that my husband started; I have a coin and stamp collection that my grandparents started and passed down; and I have a Disney Collection(I love Disney); I like to cross stitch; I wished I could quilt; and I know how to crochet but I'm not a pro. I love to do cross stitch but don't have the time. I enjoy history(I guess that is why I love looking for my ancestors); I enjoy a good romance and a great mystery. I also enjoy games such as scrabble, boggle, monopoly, clue, and just about any card game. My favorite shows are sci-fi such as all the Star Treks. I really enjoy Farscape and of course that all time great STAR WARS. I do enjoy these shows but my feet are planted on the ground. I guess I enjoy these shows because I like the idea that we may one day live in space. Basically I'm an average mom/wife with many varied interests and ideas.
