My 1999 European Vacation - Page 2

After coming back down from the mountain into the village, we spent that afternoon shopping. I had already driven the people on the bus crazy, asking them to keep their eyes open for a Zielpunkt store, once we entered Austria. The bus driver, who was also our bus driver last year when we took the 10 day spring trip to Rimini Italy found a town with a Zielpunkt store in it and accordingly planned the shopping trip in that town ;-), I guess it helps to have connections.

For all the non PEZheads (people that are not collecting PEZ dispenser as a hobby) that are looking at this page, Löwa’s Smily is the newest PEZ dispenser that was made exclusively for the Zielpunkt stores in Austria and is only available in those stores.

I bought all the 18 Zielpunkts they had in that store.

My first Smily purchase

By the way, the official name is *Löwa’s Smily*. Löwa is the parent company of the Zielpunkt stores.

As luck would have it, there was another Zielpunkt store in another section of that town and there too I took the remaining 12 they had in the store. The rest of the PEZ assortment they had was very disappointing, only candy and about 5 dispensers altogether of the Asterix series.

On the 4th day we headed back to Germany, stopping "Im Weissen Rössl" am Wolfgangssee for lunch. This is a very famous vacation spot in Austria. There is an old German movie, a love story, what else could it be in a place like that ;-) by that name that was filmed on location there.

Since the bus was non-smoking, we took smoking breaks every so often.

Edith, Dora and Christl - yes, there is snow on top of that mountain
