My 1999 European Vacation - Page 6
Monday we had a very nice lunch with my friend who was the original owner of the lemon. He had a few more nice pieces for me, all n/f and older dispensers, which I was very thankful for. I did not get a chance to look at all my PEZ I brought back thoroughly yet nor take any pictures of them, I must catch up with the immediate work of paying bills, going through piles of mail and of course there is all the work that awaited me in work. So as soon as I’m caught up, I will be able to finally concentrate on and enjoy my newly acquired treasures. I will then tell you all about it and have some pictures for you to look at.The rest of the week was one dinner after the next with family and friends, no wonder I gained 7 lbs.
We took another trip to Czechoslovakia, a different town this time, but still no PEZ.
In my hometown, which is Pressath, they build a small shopping center about 3 years ago. I have been there the last 3 years. This time however, I noticed something that did not catch my eye before, when I was not actively pursuing my PEZ hobby. The shopping center is called Pressath Einkaufszentrum.
Do you notice what they did? They did exactly what Kommerzialrat Eduard Haas III did with the word Pfefferminz. But pssst ..... don't tell anyone, ok ;-)
Saturday I spent most of the time packing, needed to borrow a suitcase from Christl just to get all the PEZ home and then we said our good byes to our family and friends.
We left Munich on Sunday 10/3/99 at 11:30AM and arrived in Newark NJ in the afternoon local time.
It sure is nice to go on vacation, especially spending time with my family and friends, but oh boy, it’s also nice to be back home. I missed all of you and look forward to exchanging e-mails, chatting or talking on the phone with you.
Take care.....
