On Motzei Shabbat, January 27,1996, Yeshiva of Los Angeles, will pay tribute to Rabbi Hershel Schachter, Shlita, an esteemed Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshiva University. Rav Shachter, among Hagaon Harav Joseph B. Soloveitchik's closest talmidim, has dedicated almost 30 years to the growth of Torah and to the development of bnei Torah and talmidei chachamim. This will also be an evening to lend support to Yeshiva of Los Angeles' multi-faceted programs which serve us all.
Rav Shachter is well-known in our community. He has been invited here repeately to serve as Scholar-in-Residence, lecturer, teacher, and halachic authority. He is a giant whose brilliance and mastery extends to the full spectrum of Torah scholarship. His clarity and erudition uniquely combine to allow him to convey his shiurim to Jews from all walks of life. Rav Schachter's humility and approachability have endeared him to all who know him.
We are honored to serve as chairmen for this well-deserved tribute. On behalf of the Yeshiva, we would like to ask you to lend your name to the tribute committee that is being formed in honor of Rabbi Schachter, and to commit to attend the dinner. The couvert begins at $180 per person.
