FEATURING GOLD NUGGETS FROM THE
GOLD FIELDS IN RURAL WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Since the beginning of time gold has been treasured by people for its color, beauty and versatility and has been used for centuries to measure wealth and power. Less than 2% of the worlds gold comes in gold nugget form, most comes from mineral ore which is processed to remove all the impurities until it is pure gold then is made into ingots. The richest gold fields in the world for gold nuggets is in rural western Australia, with Victoria providing some of the best gold nuggets (including the largest gold nugget ever found the WELCOME STRANGER at 156 pounds) but also some of the puriest gold nuggets in the world 92% - 99% (22kt - 24kt) with most averaging 96% to 98% which give Australian gold nuggets that beautiful yellow gold color so coveted by collectors. Unlike most items gold and other precious metals are measured by troy ounces which has 31.1 grams to a troy ounce and 12 oz. to a troy pound.
All the gold nuggets on this site come from Australia and reside in my personal collection, the more unusual the shape of a gold nugget the more character it has which makes it more desirable to collectors. The most desirable gold nuggets are ones that resemble something like the
"THE BLADE" nugget, the "MOOSE LEAPING" nugget or the "FISH" nugget. Please come back often as the nuggets I have currently listed are only a small part of my collection and I will continue to list other nuggets as I get them photographed.
