Check out their weather forcast.
My mother was born and raised in Rocky River, Ohio (a small suburb of Cleveland) and my dad was born in Mullin, Texas (pop: 697) - located between Golthwaite and Brownwood in central Texas.
How they got together in New York is unclear to me. I know they were living in "depression times" and my dad was working two jobs and tending the coal furnace in their apartment building - so they got free rent.
I was born in a Catholic hospital (no longer there) that was across the street fron the "Brooklyn Stadium".It was a charity hospital and my mother's sister (my aunt Ella) was a nurse there, may be the explaination to our presence in New York. It was a year and three months later my brother was born, also in New York City.
My dad has told us (brother-Jim,sister Trish, and me) many wild adventures of his early years. He (like me) was a "gambler"; However, he had said : There is a difference between a gambler and a better: The gambler will spend every dollar he can get his hands on (to the expense of his family); Where the bettor is enjoying the excitement of the game of chance and does his betting without disrupting his family or work. My Dad felt that he and I were "bettors".
