General Information

This Memorial Day week-end, come join the U.P. distance Riders on our 2oth anniversary of the Grand Island Ride! Ride in our beautiful Hiawatha National forest, a trail rider's paradise that stretches from Lake Michigan to Lake Superior. the trail is used exclusively for horseback and hiking enthusiasts, and is marked and maintained by the U.S. Forest Service. You will cross streams, ride through beautiful hardwoods and majestic pines. Ask anyone who has ridden this trail and they will tell you it is one of the best trails in the Mid-West!

Ride headquarters will be at the Lower Campground, plenty of parking and camping sites, plus water and latrines. Gas, food, lodging and showers (for a nominal fee) are just a few miles away.

We will have a potluck dinner Saturday evening (approximately 6 pm). Management will provide, the main course, potatoes, and paper plates. Please bring a dish to pass and your own utensils.
