Full figure Black boy eating watermelon. The Dallas Court House is in the bowl.
Common state handle from Georgia. The bowl has an engraved picture of a Black man playing a mandolin. Despite repeated attempts, I couln't get the scanner to produce a good picture.
Demi spoon showing Lincoln freeing the slaves. The finial shows the White House as it appeared during the Civil War. This spoon is of more modern origin
African woman with a baby on her back. This spoon is probably from S. Africa. This is a sterling spoon, but this same image is available in a pewter version.
This is an American Made spoon with a highly negative image of Blacks. The spoon says that it is from Panama, but it really refers to the building of the Panama Canal. The lettering in the hand painted bowl says "Culebra Slides". The Culebra cut was the most important part of the the Panama Canal Project and was the largest earth moving project in history. During the course of the construction, a number of landslides occurred. This is a double reference to the slides as it also shows two black boys sliding down the hill. In addition note the highly stereotyped face of the left boy. It is a "cone" shape and this is also a negative slur.
A black woman holding an umbrella and sitting in an ox pulled cart -- labeled "Dixie"
