VIRTUALECHMERE - In memorial of the famous Massachusetts department store, 1913-1997. May she rest in peace (without a "Best Buy" taking her place...)

Welcome to VirtuaLechmere! This is a meeting place for those who remember Lechmere, and an information source for those who don't, and overall, a memorial to the store which played a part in the lives of so many Bostonians. In the next few days, I hope to get this page up and running. However, I am extremely busy and probably won't get around to it until next weekend. Just a quick mention - I have it on the best authority that the password to those systems in the computer department at Lechmere was, in 1995 at least, "LECHLESS". I am trying to verify this. So, all you hackers, don't you wish you knew this before the store closed? Blame it on Montgomery Ward! Stop back in about a week to view the IMPROVED VirtuaLechmere. I'm not saying anything about it yet, but this page (and the proprietor of this page) could be in for some big surprises (yes, it does have to do with the store!). I will get scans of all the Lechmere stuff I have (hopefully) by the end of the month. That "stuff" includes receipts (including "ALL SALES ARE FINAL! 15% OFF" final days receipts), a Lechmere credit card, two flyers (one with Bill Parcells on the cover!), a few Photo Fest flyers, and (if I can find it) a bag from the store. That "stuff" could double overnight - just you wait! By the way, to satisfy all those legality nitpickers, this page is in no way related to the former Lechmere Sales Corp., nor Montgomery Ward, nor Lechmere, and each name is a registered trademark of it's respective company.
