Tunnel leading to the province of AbraOn August 17, 1991, nine interested couples: Totoy and Erly Valera, James and Neny Carino, Sitong and Puritz Bernardez, Amos and Lucille Dumpit, Mark and Pauling Gonzales, Jess and Tess Meneses, Freddie and Meli Gonzales, Matthew and Baby Hall, and five other gentlemen: Conrad Belisario, Ray Gonzales, Bletski Navarro, Waldy Belisario, and Edwin Belisario brainstormed together to unite all abranians throughout Canada.

The first organizational meeting was held on September 7, 1991 attended by these enthusiastic and motivated couples, and also by new recruits: Edd and Carol Banez, Joe and Dida Flores, Roger and Alma Torreno and Esther Mago. Abranian Canada was formally established and interim officers were appointed, with Totoy Valera as interim president. This event was followed by a Dinner and Acquaintance Dance on November 23, 1991 where the interim officers were introduced. A raffle held that night raised $300 for Perlita Balneg, a girl brought to Canada under the Herbie Foundation of the Hospital for Sick Children for a surgery on a disfiguring facial mass. She has since been operated on successfully and is now back in her hometown of Caloa in Bucay, Abra in the Philippines.

On May 2, 1992, the association formally inducted its first set of officers led by its interim president, now acclaimed its first president. The association was registered in february 1993 as a non-profit organization and has held this status to the present.
