"Melanie", a modern Turkish doll in her Turkish Parlour. Many of the items are made by me, or made from found objects. This room is one room in my "Ghastly Grosvenor Manor Dollhouse". Stay tuned for more photos! The light fixture is the cap from a perfume bottle. The chaise is a Battat mini. The round table was a Petite Princess which has been refinished. I made all the pillows, except the bright red one, made by Victoria and the two purple quilted ones, by Battat. The red and gold footstool is actually a vintage ring box. I made the sequined and beaded scarf draped over the sofa. I also made the fireplace. The painting was bought back in the 70s from an Art in the Park show in Leavenworth, WA. The Turkish dollhouse rug is reallly from Turkey. The velveteen wallpaper and carpet was a nightmare to install.

Another overview of the room. I made the black pyramid shaped footrest pillow on the floor.

The lotus hanging is actually an earring I bought while in Egypt. The white velvet pillows are by Victoria. The gold brass leaves were made by me in a jewellery making/design class. The black doily I bought at Dressew in Vancouver.

This lovely painting is by Doris Andrews in Oregon. If anyone has any info on her, please email me. The small brass knick knacks are from my mother's estate. The mantelpiece clock I bought from a hobby shop. I made the fireplace all by myself, including the log "fire" and tiles. I had fun with this piece.

Another close up of Doris Andrews' oil painting. Please someone tell me it is worth a lot of money!

A meshed window, reminscent of harem windows. I made the perfume bottle and the lamp from misc. materials.

This pyramid-shaped pillow with four sides and bottom, was quite a challenge. I stamped ankhs in gold paint onto each surface.

The pyramid stained glass was done by a lady in a Yahoo miniatures group. I will add her name as soon as I can find it. The perfume arrangement is by Victoria. You can sort of see a trimmed mirror underneath the settee area.

The doll I made for this room. I call her "Melanie", because she looks like me.

Another closeup of the room. You can see the hallway leading to the Roman/Greco room. The purple quilted pillows are by Battat.

One last look at the scene. Thank you for coming for drinks!
