Mutt finds interesting items at the monthly coin show
It’s been too hot for the Swap Shop, so as usual Mutt walked the Fort Lauderdale Coin Show Sunday and in addition to meeting with all his friends, had a great day. First he said hello to Jeff, who was busy talking to a nice lady. Sam brought him the ANA Baltimore Show auction catalogues: Bowers and Medena Galleries 480 pages which also included, the Lyn Knight Currency Auction Catalogue of 108 pages of beautiful color paper money images. The second catalogue was the Heritage Baltimore Signature Sale 621 pages, including their usual CD-rom disk. On the CD, were many wonderful pictures, enlarged on his computer, of U.S. gold coins. |

As Mutt's collecting interests are for little foreign silver coins, he went around to see if anyone had something new. First his Canadian friends May and Bill had brought him back from their vacation up north, the 50 Year Commemorative 1952-2002 Silver Canadian Dime - Beautiful portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the Schooner Bluenose, gem proof. Walking around a little more, John had the new 2003 U.S. silver proof set and had just broken one up, so he purchased the DIME from him, for his collection. He always purchase from the Mint two sets, some day they will be a gift to his Grandsons in Hawaii. On the next table he saw Tony, who he always ask, "do you have any new foreign". Someone was looking at a box, who said "there are several dimes in here". He must have known Mutt. The answer to Tony was "at least no one else collects what I do". He handed him the box, from which he selected all the dime size silver coins, except a few Canadian. Although he did not have his want list with him it is almost impossible to find something on this list these days he purchased three coins. When arriving home, later in the day, to his elated surprise, all three were on his want list. MEXICO 1889 Ga S 10 Centavos mintage 303,185 - Ga = GUADALAJARA, S = Jose S.
