This is Devils Tower, WY. It's in the northeast part of the state. It was a volcano that never blew up. The story of the chasing the Indians up the rock is NOT true. The Belle Fourche River surrounds the Tower. The tower and the areas around it are the best in the winter when you go skiing around there.
