My 2004 VTX 1300 s
I bought my VTX in August 2004. I do love this bike. I will start to post all of my upgrades on this page and any work that I do to the bike hopefully the information will be helpful to others. So for I have added A back rest, luggage rack, Memphis Fats wind screen, low cost Bags, A hyper charger & engine guards.
I am running the stock pipes that have the baffles drilled out I have a 1 inch hole in each bottom baffle plate and ran A 1 inch hole saw threw the main pipes. The sound is better. It’s just what I wanted. It has a Deep idle not too loud. However louder than stock. It has a Cool loud rumble. When I get on it. Its Loud enough to be heard 2 or 3 blocks away. I used A one-inch whole saw with a 12 inch Extension .

Do the Clayton mod first. If you want more sound you can try what I did . ones you have done the Clayton mod you can see the bottom baffle thrue the bottem holes you have drilled. Just get a one inch hole saw and 12 inch Extension.
The sound bit you hear when the page first loads is the sound of the pipes with the mod I have done!
