Day approach : Entrance difficult to identify from sea. Steer the course for 012° on the observatory Post of Mont Gros up the lighthouse. Skirt end of harbour wall, leaving the head of the Poudriere mole to starboard. Harbour sheltered in all winds except SE/S

Port side: After lighthouse along main harbour wall 2 red flashes (5s) - At the end of lnfemet quay red fl (4s) * Dangers: Exit for commercial ships hidden by main harbourwall visibles just at the moment they issue from the pass.
Wind : Easterly wind dominating unusual from west (Mistral).
