When a long time friend of the family taught her to make
a simple bear using a pattern.
Then Jane began experimenting on making her own designs for friends.
Not long after that Jane found she could fetch a price for her work.
Soon she started her own business.
Several years ago local Television stations in Austin, Minnesota (NBC) and Rochester, Minnesota (ABC) interviewed her for news stories.
Both of those stories went national. One year later the local CBS affiliate in Mason City, Iowa also did an interview.
The TeddyBear Factory has grown and now does well as a
local business and with mail order.
Jane also has many of her bears in stores around the country.
She specializes in making keepsake teddy bears out of fur coats and has made several thousand for her customers over the years.
