I went for my 25/26 week check up on July 10th. Everything was ok..we listened to the heartbeat twice, the first time it was real high (180) then the second time it was 132. The doc said that was normal. I go back in 4 weeks (August 8th) for my glucose test..fun fun! Then I should start going every 2 weeks pretty soon!
We are also having an ultrasound done on August 7th. The doctor who is doing it will video tape it for us and give us pictures to bring home! We are hoping we'll be able to see for sure that this baby is a girl! My regular doctor said it was...but i want to be extra sure :)
I had to go to the doctor today, I was at the mall with the kids and got real dizzy and light headed. It turned out I was dehyrdrated! They also did the 1 hour glucose test while I was there. Other than that everything seemed ok. A few days later I found out I failed the 1 hour test so I have to go take a 3 hour test now :(
August 7th, 2000-
ULTRASOUND DAY!! Brian and I went to Oklahoma City to have the other ultrasound done and video taped! It was so neat! The doctor took lots of measurements and we could see her face, hands, arms, stomach, and feet! He also confirmed that she is indeed a girl! It was really neat! If you can get your ultrasound put on video tape...do it! Its so neat to watch it later on!
August 14th, 2000-
3 Hour Glucose Tolerence Test- Went in at 8 am for the test..I was on a special diet for the 3 days prior to the appointment and wasn't allowed to eat anything til the test was over. Well I drank the 'glucola' and got my finger poked.. then i had to go back to the lab in 30 minutes, then another 30, then 1 hour and 1 hour again.. each time they stuck my finger and took blood. I got sick in the first 30 minutes and they had to let me lay down! I just knew I was going to throw up. I managed to keep the drink down and even got to nap between finger sticks!
I finished the test about 11:30 and went straight to Mazzio's Pizza! I was starving! I ate a salad and some bread sticks and then had to kill some time til I went back to the doctor at 1:15. Wal Mart managed to keep me busy during that time! lol Ok so i go back at 1:15 and they have the results from the test..... I'm one point away from failing :( So now i'm supposed to watch how much sugar I eat and continue drinking lots of water. I got to hear the heartbeat, it was around 140-150.. and I only gained 1 pound since my last appointment. I go back in about two weeks... on August 30th.
Well the August 30th appointment was not very exciting. Found out i still had a bladder infection so i was put back on antibiotics til the end of the pregnancy. I gained one pound and the heartbeat was fine. Back again in two weeks!
Went for my 35 week check up. Everything seemed to be ok, the antibiotics have finally cleared up the bladder infection! yippee! I still have to keep taking them though..just to be safe. The baby's heartbeat was 152 and she has got her head down now..but she could still flop around if she wants to! I've been having alot of aches and pains in my hips and lower abdomen so i asked the doc about that....of course she said it was all normal and there was nothing we could really do about it! I go back in one week for the Strep B test. So all in all everything looks good.. I did gain two pounds! But she didn't complain so i won't either! lol
