Mostly.

why are there photos? isn't this supposed to be a drawn cartoon?

What are you, some kind of cartoon purist? Should I color in halftone? I use photo because either: I get lazy, my drawing sucks or the picture is the stimulus for the cartoon.

do you adhere to any drawing theory?

Actually, yes. I draw something once in pen on a pad of paper that says "FROM THE DESK OF" on it. If I mess up I flip it over, draw in the corner or throw it away and go to the next sheet. Then I scan into Photoshop and add words, colors and whatever else. Then I export and shrink it to a 480 pixel wide JPG with a resolution of 300 dpi.
