Here are a couple of more shots from Friday morning. That afternoon, we travelled to Stevens Point and spent the night and Saturday morning there, enjoying the Soo Line Historical and Technical Society's annual convention. It included a tour through the Wisconsin Central shops there, and I also caught some switching action at a local paper mill (pictures to follow at my up-coming WCL site). We returned to Cadott on Saturday afternoon and I got a couple more shots at Irvine as the 2719 was being serviced after two successful trips Saturday afternoon.

	Here's a "Builders Photo" type of shot. This locomotive was donated by the Soo Line to the City of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1960 and spent the next 34 years in Carson Park. Restoration was made possible by the Locomotive and Tower Preservation Fund, along with a lot of willing and able volunteers. Photo was taken Friday morning, September 25, 1998.

	The major reason that railroads switched to internal combustion power was the amount of maintenance required on the steam locomotives. As the sun sets, three members of the 2719 crew change out a superheater gasket after two successful trips. Photo was taken Saturday evening, September 26, 1998.
