RUM BALLS

2 Cups Very Fine Vanilla Wafer Crumbs
1 Cup Chopped Walnuts (optional)
2 Cups Powdered Sugar (VERY FULL CUPS)
4 TBSP (level) Cocoa

Mix above ingredients well in a large bowl.  

Add:

1/2 Cup Rum (Bourbon, Brandy, etc. may be substituted)
    NOTE: If you use a high-alcohol liquor (like 151 rum), increase to 3/4 Cup.
3 TBSP White Corn Syrup (Karo)

Mix well and form into balls about the size of a walnut.  
Roll in powdered sugar or shake in a bag of powdered sugar.

Keep covered in refrigerator.

Makes 50-60 balls.

PLEASE NOTE:  Since some of the measurements in this recipe are approximate
(like the powdered sugar), you may find that the mixture is too wet or (less 
often) too dry to form into balls.  If it is too wet, add small amounts of 
powdered sugar and mix in until the desired consistency is achieved.  If it is 
too dry, add small amounts of liquor and mix.
