Santa Clara Valley Canary & Exotic Bird Club
May 21, 1972
Pot-luck: 1 P.M. Meeting 1:45 P.M.
Santa Clara High School Cafetorium
corner of Washington & Bellomy Sts., Santa Clara
Dear Members:
Since the 2nd. Sunday of May is Mother's Day, please note the change of meeting day to the 21st. of May. Try to come to this meeting as we not only have Chuck Arella showing and discussing Finches, but we have Mr. Simonson from Silversong Feed Co. coming to demonstrate the mixing of the feed and telling the values of good seed. This should be most interesting. The seed will then be used in our regular Sunday raffle; don't you have something to bring too?
The Judges that have been chosen by the show committee are as follows: Dr. Hawkins of Sunland, Red Factors; Don Foster of Monrovia, Type Birds; and Frank Crane of Fresno, Exotic Birds.
Many requests have been made for the name of the book Leonard Quieto discussed at the last meeting: Canaries in Colour, by George Lynch ($3.00)
Pot-luck as usual, please bring your own tableservice; Hostess Pat O'Donnell will be contacting you to see what you're bringing. Too many signed-up for salad.
At this meeting we will be having a question and answer box. If you have any questions you'd like answered and are too shy to ask, write them down & drop in the box. I'm sure some of the members will be able to give you an answer, if not maybe we can find someone who can.
Through the terrific press notices Charlotte LaDoux has had in the papers, we have met many new bird fanciers. Keep up the great work Charlotte!
THIS & THAT!
We were very sorry to hear that Ruby Dubois is in the Stanford Hospital recovering from surgery, but most happy to hear she's recovering speedily.
Myldred Yount is interested in geting some breeding cages. Anyone have any extras?
Don't forget if ou hae any bird items to sell or swap, such as birds, cages, nest bowls, etc., feel free to bring them to the meeting.
“HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU MOMS”
See you May 21st.
Delilah Quieto
