Call On Me Again

J. Peter Haliburton

I wrote this song in 1983 or 1984. I can't remember exactly, but it was before I moved to Toronto. When I came back, I discovered it was still being played by members of the band I used to be in. This version was recorded by cousins Wayne and David Leyden in Wayne's basement studio around 1986. The words have been altered a little from the original.

I wrote the words one Sunday evening while sitting on my bed waiting for supper. After finishing the meal I rushed down to Dave's shed where the band equipment was and put some music to it. I made a recording and brought it for Dave to listen to. He was impressed enough to give it a shot at the next band practice. We played it for the first time in public at a teenage dance in Horwood that Friday - before it was even a week old. It always fills the dance floor.
