The latest version of the Good Computer Buyer's Guide is 7.0. Note that the name is intended to mean that it helps you to buy a good computer, not that the guide itself is good.

It contains specs for hardware, a list of good software programs I've come across, and some miscellaneous stuffs.

It's free.

Converting it into HTML format for online viewing is something I may do sometime. Let me know if you'd like/prefer that.
