Here are some of the things I've written... Currently they're just numbered, not named. Be aware that most of this stuff is pretty depressing, and may disrupt your carefully-maintained aura of peace. If you would prefer to be happy than to think, I suggest you go somewhere else. I started writing when I was feeling pretty close to suicide and the writing was an outlet for me. Later on when I didn't feel quite as depressed, my writing became pessimistic complaints about what's wrong with the world. These rants are listed in the chronological order in which they were written, so they start off being the paranoid ravings of a lunatic and later turn into preachy sermons about what's wrong with the world. I feel like only recently have these writings become more constructive and coherent; those looking for real content might want to read them in reverse order, and stop when the angst becomes too much to bear.
Some may observe that the term "rants" is not really the most appropriate descriptor for these writings. They are not the spontaneous, explosive, typically angry diatribes favored by many web writers. I tend to advocate a more thoughtful, careful view of the world around us, but I ended up just using the generic term "rant" for the filenames on the writings, even though they're really not.
Incidentally, a lot has changed since I started writing. I'm no longer such a lonely man. I'll leave this page as it is, though, since it captures a lot of feelings that other people often go through as well. Since these writings started, I found life: I found love, I found God, I found joy, and I found purpose. I think this is reflected fairly well in the way the writings eventually progress, but words can't really express the transformation that my life and I have taken. I only hope that somebody who finds this page may, on some level, understand, and find themselves glad because of it.

1Poetry is, of course, a popular form of writing as well. Poetry offers the advantage of being free-form, so you don't have to form complete sentences, complete thoughts. You just need to express the important thoughts, conveying the crux of the idea. Vague, half-formed thoughts, joined together in a semi-coherent mix of visions. So, here's what I've written so far in terms of poetry...

I removed the "poetry" that was here because it was really just terrible. I think that as much as I like reading poetry, it's not my style of personal expression. Straight prose serves me much better. I much prefer working with articulated thoughts than half-formed phrases. To each their own, I guess.
