One of the most important things that we get out of our newspaper is the weather. The Weather Channel is one of the best sites for this. The Weather Channel is very good for giving an overall general outlook for the trends in the weather. When I want the local area forecasts and current weather I turn to either The Weather Channel or the CNN site for Morgantown.
Of course, what would a newspaper be without the funnies. The Comic Strip is a good collection, even if it is a week old. King Features is another good one. And then there's MY CARTOON LINKS. Of course, The Comic Strip doesn't have Garfield Online, but I found this direct connection to the Garfield comic strip! I also found Mother Goose & Grimm here.
An then there's the horoscope section. Unlike most newspaper, where you only get one, I have quite a few links. The first is Jonathan Cainer's Forecasts and the original site in the UK. These sites are excellent and are the first things that I check, even before the comics.
But if you are too impatient to go through Jonathan's front page, here are the direct methods.
Jonathan Cainer also has a Weekly Zodiac Forecasts and the original in the UK. And Jonathan even has Internet Radio Forecasts!! Of course there is the Random House Horoscopes, which is good. A new age version of your horoscope can be found on Today's Stars. Horoscopes from AccuWeather® is a very good page that gives you a quick look at them all, more favorites are Your Daily Horoscope, New York Post's Horoscope, Daily Horoscopes, and EasyScopes gives you an index into other sites if these don't suit your needs.
Some of my favorite on-line newspapers are: CNN Interactive, NEWS.com, TechWeb, Wired News and ABCNEWS.com. (Watch out for ABC News on a modem -- it's always doing downloads and will slow down your system fast!)
USA Today has a section devoted to the Web called Web Traveler that is always good for a few new bookmarks.
And since we don't spend all of our time in front of the computer, there's the other One-Eyed Monster -- TV. So here's some guides to make the most of your viewing.
TV Guide, well we all know what TV Guide is. Another TV Guide type site is GIST, which received a 'Webby' award in 1997.
