Since the Tech Bench Elmers' formation in February of 1992 this group has existed for the betterment of Amateur Radio in general and specifically the preservation of the historic achievement and custom of the Amateur Radio service as an originator of technical innovation.
Our members are proud of and influenced by the achievements of noted Radio Amateurs who have made conspicuous accomplishments in the Radio Art! Amongst these, but not limited only to these, would be John Kraus, Edwin Armstrong, and Philo T. Farnsworth.
Our charter most poignantly notes that formally stated recognition of the Amateur Radio service,
as defined in the Federal Communications Commission regulation 97.1 parts B, C, D, which
describes the "Basis and Purpose" of Amateur Radio and further annotates :
Continuation and extension of the Amateur's proven ability to contribute to the advancement of
the radio art.
Encouragement and improvement of the Amateur service through rules which provide for advancing skills in both the communication, and technical phases of the art.
Expansion of the existing reservoir within the Amateur Radio service of trained operators,
technicians, and electronics experts.
