Hi !
My name is Bob Fergusson. I live in the States and I’m a reporter for Time
Magazine. I’ve travelled all over the world. I know Europe very well and
I’ve been to Africa, Japan, Brazil. I’ve stayed in a Pigmy
village, you know, the smallest people on earth. I’ve lived with them.
It’s the most fascinating report I’ve ever done. I’ve taken photos
of wild animals in Kenya. It’s the best place to go if you’re interested in
animals. I’ve eaten crocodile and snake meat. When I was in Tokyo
two years ago, I played tennis at the top of a skyscraper. So,
you see, I’ve had lots of fabulous experiences […].
-
Quand on fait un bilan au moment où l’on parle ( = présent)
d’expériences passées, quand on s’intéresse à leurs conséquences présentes
→ present perfect
-
Quand on raconte ces expériences passées (récit avec plus ou moins de détails)
→ preterit

On Monday morning at 6 o’clock I
took a taxi to Heathrow airport. There were traffic-jams but I arrived
just in time: all the passengers were already on board. I was glad
I didn’t miss my plane! I sat down and fastened my seat-belt. The
weather was absolutely awful! The plane began to shake. I am usually brave
but this time I felt scared. The flight seemed so long! We
finally landed in Mexico city. I called the Holton hotel and booked
a room. I soon realized that there was no air conditioning. I thought the
Holton was a better hotel: I was disappointed. After dinner I went for a
walk but I didn’t have a map and I got lost twice. I suddenly felt
lonely, homesick and miserable.
