TAG

A command line tool I've been looking for with no avail. Tag files at will and they will be placed (CR/LF-delimited) in a dedicated tag file. This file can be used with other TAG-commands (separate EXEs) to copy, move or delete the tagged files. The file can also be used with PkZip or a similiar archive utility. So far, the complete package isn't available, but it's under development and will be released bit by bit. The package will, when done, contain about 10 small programs.

• TAG Tags files by placing them in the tag file.
• unTAG The opposite, removes the tag from the files specified by the file mask.
• removeTAG Same as unTAG, but here, all files in the tag file are affected. With unTAG, doing a *.exe would only untag the EXE files found in the current directory, as opposed to removeTAG where all the tag will be removed from all EXEs wherever they are.
• copyTAG Copies the tagged files to another directory.
• moveTAG Moves the tagged files to another directory.
• deleteTAG Delete the tagged files from disk.
• appendTAG Appends the tagged files to form a new file.
• emptyTAG Empties the tag file. Is equiviliant to use removeTAG *.*, but is a lot faster.
• foreachTAG Performs a command on all tagged files. As a default, a BAT file will be build for increased performance.
• listTAG Lists all tagged files, optionally with size, timestamp and so on.
• touchTAG Touches, i.e. changes the timestamp of the tagged files.

The names will be abbreviated to mostly four characters (RTAG, CTAG, MTAG and so on).
