And add to that that it'd be fucking cold and raining. Plus here you can walk down to westwood and at least it doesnt look like shit. Ok plus no matter how shitty our sports teams get, and yes they have been pretty bad lately, we're still better.

Chinese on the other hand sucked. Two guys pushed their way ahead and took the last two spots in the discussions i wanted. 8 people raised their hands saying they needed pte numbers but like 40 people went up there. So i ended up at 10am with stuckley. Miller was cool plus it was a better time, man that sucked. Connie i bet you got like 9am since i got the last one at 10am.

Well i was thinking again. Yes i know everytime i think i think depressing things. Anyways i'm horribly unmotivated. I procrastinated all of last week and i'm in deep shit again. But i did figure out something. I think that degrees and certifications and other worthless pieces or paper are just a total load of crap. I blame society and the all mighty materialism for it. I mean all the degrees and stuff you can get are all just meaningless, so i figure i'm not motivated since well i'm spending effort and time getting meaningless things. I mean they are just there to say that you went through college, so that when you get a job, they wont question your intelligence, since obviously if you have a piece of paper then you have to be at least not a complete idiot (yes this doesn't actually work right, since there are so many idiots here). Anyways i was thinking probably the single biggest asset i have is that i've got a lot of business sense and well i didnt learn that in school , but its gonna help me a lot in the future i'm pretty sure anyways. So i guess i'm just here in school to sit on my ass and get my "i'm not a moron" certification so that i can get a job. Man the entire thought of how it all "works" in the real world is kinda depressing. Damn oh well.

Well as for thanksgiving well somehow to some mixup we ended up with 2 turkeys when it was all said and done, and neither of them were very good. I slept a lot at home, didnt do much though. On sunday my mom made me go to church, and well i really hate church. I guess when the scottish guy was still the priest it wasn't so bad, but now its the wierd latin guy who as usual cant speak english. I dont think they have english speaking catholic priests. Anyways i really dont believe in religion as you probably all know, and well my mom felt all bad when the priest tapped me on the shoulder when i didnt eat my communion thing right away. My mom was like , i felt like i didnt raise you right, and i was like "no you just feel bad since i didnt end up being religious". Its such a crock of shit, they just build in all these things into it so they can say "you'll never know unless you have faith" and that they can sorta back up that with countless paradoxical illogical arguments.

Well a few good things actually happened. I got a B on my 2nd english paper. I guess thats good, but in the grand scheme it doesnt really matter except for my personal goal of having a 3.0 GPA at some point so that i dont totally look like i'm slacking off. My dad even lectured me for 20 minutes on sunday about me not trying my best, and it just brings me to think "why?" I mean sure i could try my best and get a 3.8 GPA or something , but what would that do? I know i'm smart, my relatives know i'm smart so what does getting good grades prove? Nothing. It just proves that you are willing to put up with more bullshit. My dad even said that my grandma believed in me and that i'm supposed to be bringing honor to the family and that she would be rolling over in her grave if she could see how much of a slacker i am. I mean, i still dont understand what grades mean, i'm not going anywhere after college, so they are just numbers. Its not like i'm not understanding everything , i'd feel pretty dumb if i didnt. Its just i'm not putting in all that extra effort to know it so well that i'll get an A instead of a B on their tests since well whats the point anyways. In high school for the SATs and classes, well i had a goal. I wanted to go to a decent college and well i thought college was a place where everyone was gonna be smart and you could have some really good conversations. It was kinda a goal and for the SATs i even made the effort to know how the tests were gonna be. But now it doesnt even matter there isn't a next thing. I dont need to do that well. Damn no motivation sucks.

Well a semi decent thing that did happen was my n64 showed up today. Of course i haven't played it since i have only golden eye and only 1 controller. Oh yeah that and my camera will come on friday, i guess spending $425 on electronics so that i can play isn't worth it. Man i'm turning into connie. Buying myself shit. Well at least i'm not alone Matt bought one too. I'll probably actually use it, but still its a total luxury type item. Oh yeah my pentium 166s are selling well. A bunch of people havent paid, but the first 9 sold for $145 or so. So i've almost paid for all 50 with 9 of them. One guy paid $35 for one, and a couple others $30 for just a single chip that cost me $4. HAHAHA. I love ebay. My 2 week old epson camera is up to $325 already, looks like it'll hit $365 tommorrow so i guess it pays for the new camera. Thats good i guess.

Well Christmas is coming around again. As usual me and all my friends aren't gonna buy each other anything. My little cousins had a lot of fun with my epson camera over thanksgiving until my relatives made me take it back since they didnt like the idea of 2 8 year olds fighting over a $400 digicam. I think if i can get a good deal i'll try and pick them up an old .35 megapixel cam for around $100. Man, i hate school its just so much BS wrapped around parents expectations. College is so much less than what i thought it would be, i figured it was gonna be intellectually stimulating, but aside from a few times its been pretty disappointing on an intellectual perspective. Maybe it'll get better... i'm doubting it though. I guess socially its been pretty good, i think i'm more social now, and i've tried some new stuff. I really am tired of my parents giving me shit about college, i wish i had gotten a full ride somewhere so that i could just have not depended on them for money and i wouldn't have to deal with that. Well that is the big update for this week probably.

Well guys, today (monday i guess) i turned in my paper which i think was pretty decent after i edited a lot of it. And i did ok on my chinese quiz. So really for the next 2 days i really dont have to do too much. Basically just go to classes that mark absences. Anyways, thanksgiving looks to be fun , i think we're gonna have an emerald bbq fest.

I also went kinda nuts again. I bought a 2x/20x dvd drive from some guy on anandtech for $30, what sucked was the tray would stick and it annoyed me, and also i realized i had no dvds and still didnt wanna buy any except the matrix. So i resold it and lost like $5. No big deal i guess its the risk you take buying used stuff when the door sticks and makes a wierd ticking noise when you close it. Now remember that digital camera i bought. Well i took it to one of terry's roomates drunken parties (no i didnt drink, their parties are pretty lame and they got mad since i drank a lot last time and didnt really contribute to their party), and well i was trying to get pictures and couldn't get good ones since i had no zoom. Also today i was doing a macro shot, and the epson is just way crappy from less than 6 inches or so, since its lens can only focus to 6". So i am selling that camera on ebay where i should probably make around $100. Now i am also selling all sorts of other crap, like my pentium 166s there. Well anyways since i am getting like $350 for a camera i paid $250 for i figured i'd buy a $450 that i paid $370 for after coupons and deals. Well my digital camera came today. There is one maybe 1/4" scratch on its little metal ring aroudn the lens, and some scuffs on the rubber thing port cover, things i would have done to it myself. Anyways its a dope ass camera. I tried to almost order a canon elph s100 camera, which is as big as a cigarette pack but they called today and said it didnt have batteries or charger included which is an additional $100, no wonder that company was lowest price on pricewatch. After playing with this cam, i dont really think i need a zoom and for $249 it was a great deal. It came with a pretty big camera bag, that can hold like 25 more batteries, the camera itself is actually about the size of my palm pilot. What good about it is it has an ISO rating of 100,200 or 400, all the fujis in the consumer line (like the finepix 2400) can only do ISO of 125, which sucks since the lower the number the more light you need, this epson you can run without the flash and it takes pretty good pics at the iso 200 or 400 setting. Also you can manually set so much stuff in it. The battery thing was overblown, you can take like 100 shots with the LCD on once your batteries are conditioned. You just cant walk around watching the LCD refresh like an idiot, also it doesnt have a slow LCD refresh like the dc215. ANyways here's a pic of my desk, i let shaun play with the camera since he helped me with my chinese homework. Notice the dual monitors. HEHEHE

Today is officially my brothers birthday so

Well today i had to print out something, and i noticed that my black cartridge was almost empty. The color cartridge also seems to be very f'd up since it doesn't print sharp, i think the print head is dead. I look online and its $42 for a black one and $48 for a color. So i go to buy.com and use a $10 off $30 coupon and go to the clearance section where it is free shipping. I am able to get the xerox docuprint c8 5ppm black 2 ppm color with 1200x600 printing on special paper, and 600x600 on regular paper. I currently have a docuprint xj8c with a hack to make it run in win2k , while the c8 is supported in win2k natively since its the new model that replaced the xj8c. This printer cost me $42 including shipping and tax after the coupon. Replacing the cartridges would have cost me over $100 with tax and shipping. Makes you wonder how wasteful we can be since i'll be polluting the environment by throwing this old printer away when i run out of ink. Oh well.

I also settled on a 16mb compactflash card for $27 shipped. It should go with the camera well, i just didnt want to wait for a mail in rebate and 16mb is plenty. ALso i reformatted my harddrive to fix a random problem with IE where it says a memory unreadable error all the time. Must have corrupted it with overclocking or something. Took me about 2 hours to reinstall, kinda sick it was so fast. Its running well now, all my computer parts even ram and video card aren't overclocked now, so now i dont have to worry about that or even have it be a factor when i have to troubleshoot next time. Alas network neighborhood still doesnt work , though it works in win98. Damn.

Well today i didnt do anything again. Actually i woke up at 3pm which was bad. I then proceeded to do nothing. My ankle is pretty good now, i was able to walk to carusos. I am healing pretty fast. Should be decently be able to walk by monday, figure running by wednesday. The big thing i did today was i bought a digital camera again. A guy once sold me a asus v7700 card that was broken, and he gave me a refund. Anyways he remembered me and when i inquired about his epson 2megapixel digital camera that he was selling for $270 he sold it to me for $249 shipped. This camera sells for $435 without shipping btw. Anyways, its got 8mb of compact flash, its maximum picture non interpolated is 1600x1200, it has a voice recorder, weighs .48 pounds, with dimensions of 4.5x2.7x1.4. Now I can sell it on ebay for $350 or so, but i'll probably keep it since i was thinking even though it has no zoom, the only reason i'd need a zoom is to spy on people. And well then i'd need a like 14x zoom on a $1000 SLR cam, not a 3x on a digital one. So my new digital camera costs exactly the same as the old one except for a few things. Its smaller , has higher res, and it came with 4aa NiMH batteries and charger and case (which last time cost me $30 to buy). It can hold 120 640x480 pics, or 24 medium compression 1600x1200, or 12 1600x1200 low compression. I'm working on getting another 16mb card for $25 or so. There is a 48mb one for $44 shipped around, but that requires a hated mail in rebate. I figure i can easily pay for this with the money I'll make from the 50 pentium 166 CPUs which should be like $700. Plus this camera already has USB built in , so i dont need a card reader (another $40 about). Plus it has tv out, so i can slide show on a tv, and i read a review and it can shoot 1 shot per second in burst fire, so i can stun people with many shots. Its really light supposedly since it uses only 2 batteries at a time, which means i'll get around 50-100 shots off with 2 batteries with a flash. Anyways, its gonna be cool, so prepare to get your picture taken either soon (if you are at UCLA, it should be here on thursday) or during thanksgiving (for you non UCLA losers.. i mean people hehe). Yeah yeah you guys already think i'll use it for a month and sell it, but even in that case, well I cant LOSE money which is always great.

Also for some reason i get a random memory unreferenced error in IE. Also if i click on an email and have it on "send message immediately when connected" with outlook, it just gets in a loop in the taskbar, and i have to end process it to allow myself to use IE. I've begun the reformat preparations. My computer isn't even overclocked at all , not a single component. Oh yeah i also managed to take that 8 gig hard drive out, so that i can sell it off for like $50 (7 trips to mongols). I even updated office to SP1A, outlook updated, and MSIE 5.5 SP1, and didnt fix it. I have no idea whats wrong, my CPU isnt incredibly hot, and it doesnt lock up in any games so i guess its reformat time. Damn havent reformatted since i got the ga7zm in september. Wow, if i didnt much with my software so much i dont think i'd even have to do this.

Well today was pretty boring. I hung around in my room all day. My ankle is making progress. This morning i walked to the bathroom and my ankle was in throbbing pain for half an hour. Needless to say it doesnt do that anymore. I might be walking fairly decently again. I got my 50 pentiums in the mail. 50 pentium 166s for $200, i sell em on ebay for the average price of $20 + $4 shipping, which i put in a padded envelope i pay 40 cents from (bought 100 of them from staples.com and used a coupon to get carter a basically free calculator and some pens we used to get up to $50, it was $30 for 100 padded envelopes so we spent another $20 so we could use $20 of $50). Anyways, Carter if you are reading this, i cant let you work with me on this, since its a conflict of interest, and i've learned over the years that conflicts of interest are bad. I can show you how to sell things, but you'll have to find the deals yourself. Business and friends (in my experience anyways) = bad.

Well my roomate is at the party i could have gone to if i could walk. And thanks to the presidency my datek account is down $2000 again, instead of the $700 down it was the day before the vote. Dammit declare a president already. Looks like i wont be filing taxes this year again since i'll probably lose money yet again. Oh well hopefully tommorrow i'll have enough mobility to go to puzzles, i ate 2 things of ramen today as all my meals. Sick eh?

FUCK!!!! I thought it would never happen again, but I sprained my ankle. Usually I'm pretty tough, half the time i just sit down for 5 minutes, and i'm playing basketball again. But this was bad. My ankle is the size of a tennis ball, and i can just hobble around everywhere. Damn it all to hell. At least i have no pain, just a massive sized left ankle. Me and terry' went to mongols today. And also gore is down only 239 votes, with 1 precinct not done doing a recount, and palm beach is gonna do a hand recount. This is gonna be good. GO GORE!!!

Well didnt do much today. Me and carter went to look for pool cues in westwood, didnt find them. But he did see them on sportchalet's web site, and they even have a UCLA one for $20. Also i wrote my paper for english. Here it is if you want to read it. Its not that good, just a draft and i was in a hurry since i didnt wanna work on it anymore.

Didnt go to math since well, i never go, and i learned more than everyone reading the book, i got 90-100% on my midterm, based on the answers they posted online. Anyways, i saw a guy on anandtech had a geforce2 they weren't using and went to ucla, so i email him and he lived in canyon. So me and terry went there, and it was kinda wierd, but he let me borrow it. I tried it out, and well it sucked ass all the text was blurry. Pretty cool how people are nice like that and let me borrow it. Helps make good buying decisions. My voodoo5 auction ended and well igot like $10 less than i wanted, i guess the two exchange path referals i got make up for it. I also played basketball today, and i hate that Dalwin guy more now. He's such an ass on the court, always thinking that its everyone elses fault that you don't know their stuppid offensive system that they've been working on for like 2 years. Knee brace guy was still cool, terry doesnt like him because he talks too much, but at least he isn't purposely trying to be an ass like Dalwin, he's encouraging most of the time.

Well today was pretty boring, played Counterstrike, met a guy on the floor that plays Counterstrike, played Counterstrike with that guy. Oh yeah I ate breakfast for the first time in 2 weeks. Exciting huh? Oh yeah the other day i bought 50 pentium 166 chips for $200, supposedly i can sell them on ebay for $15-25 and make $500-800 on this. Cool huh? Well after all that counterstrike (which ran beautifully on my now slower 3d card, i couldn't even tell the difference) I was bored so i slept. Then i decided to update my page, so if you check out the About me page i changed some of it. Take a look at my nationality. HAHA. Lastly i think i'm gonna look into getting a guestbook or something for this page. I wish I knew how to do that comments thing like Alan's page (well according to matt from before its I'd have to learn freaking perl, but i dont think geocities supports that). Well I'm hungry , I guess i'll make a trip to puzzles soon. Oh yeah yesterday i went to Carusos and there were like 200 people there, it was like an hour wait. So i walk to bradley to see if its open, and i found an old motorola cellphone on the ground, this was real old, like bigger than microtac. Anyways, Bradley was closed so i walked by that free rave thing while i was up there. There were like 15 people there and our fagbastard RD phil tompkins who was an ass to us for our write up was in front, so you knew it was gonna suck. So i walk back and there are even more people in carusos. So i just get drinks instead of waiting for my sandwich and ate ramen.

Today i woke up at 3. I went to westwood and had some food and got a haircut. I got in a conversation with a guy on the street about what a ripoff some food is. Yes i was at that korean gushi stand, and he wanted to know how much the dumplings were, because it was 3 for $3 at the other place and he said that sucked. But it was 10 for $5 here. Anyways, i realized i actually like giving my change to REAL bums. I saw this bum who had like a glass eye and really tattered clothes, and he wanted like change for a hamburger, so i gave him my change from my beef bowl. He actually went and bought a hamburger too. Its guys like "Any kind of change" , purple velvet suit and hat guy and motorcycle insurance man (which i saw today) that give real homeless a bad time.

Damn i' must have been on crack the other day , the movie was big wednesday. Today i took my math midterm which had to be the easiest math test i've ever taken. Took 20 minutes. I wasn't quiet awake for my chinese oral midterm, so i screwed up a little in the beginning, but picked it up at the end. I should have taken my time more, i guess i was trying to get it over with. Went with terry to mongols, i think a change is in order. After that went bowling with ACA. I never bowled before and well i found that i suck, i bowled like a 75 and like 61 my 2nd game. I got 2 strikes in 20 sets. got 0 like 5 times. Man i suck. They played trance and hip hop the whole time, and the guys running the bowling alley started singing along. They had all these lazery lights and it got kinda bad since they released too much smoke. Oh well that is all i've done, i guess i'm supposed to be up for a 10am basketball game tommorrow, with a guy in my ACA family that went to west high Tim Kim. He's honorary Chinese according to kenny since he's korean.

Well today i watched a surfing movie called "Big Sunday" at powell for my english class, it was ok. I went to chinese this morning and finally got a sample midterm for math. It sucks that i have my oral midterm for Chinese on friday instead of monday, monday would work a lot better since my math midterm is friday. Oh well. I got those meaty cheesy boys mp3s so i made a new Sound Clip about what i wanna do tommorrow instead of midterms. Its not real audio like brians since well i have no real audio recording thing. Brian's was cool too, c'mon everyone make one. Damn i'm still sick, i just woke up from my , damn i study since i am so tired nap of 3 hours. I guess i should sleep now since its 5am though and get up tommorrow and start. Oh well. Voodoo4 likely comes tommorrow i guess that'll be something good. The pic on matts page is so funny.

Well no sound clip today, i cant think of anything. I went to english and chinese today. Chinese was well pretty boring. She spoke in chinese for 3 minutes to demo something, and well i understood , so apparently the work i did this weekend might actually pay off. Went to the lounge and did math, another first for the year. Got it all done, so i guess i'm pretty caught up. What was sad was i went to english after chinese like half an hour early because of the wierd times english classes start. So Stephanie and Vance in my class show up and they are like hey did you read. And i'm like yeah. And they didnt. So they ditched and i agreed to get handouts for them. I think i probably would have ditched too at that point but i already ditched this quarter so i only have one absence left. Good thing there weren't any handouts or i probably would have lost them. Sucked was i forgot to do the paragraph typed that was due, but oh well its worth like nothing anyways.

I did some computer stuff too. I put in my matrox 2mb PCI card and hooked it up to my crappy 14" SVGA that can do a max 56hz at 800x600 and 60hz at 640x480. Dual monitors is pretty cool. I put winamp on that screen with the playlist. So today i got bored and played Counterstrike and i could control winamp with my keyboard media keys and see what track i was on. Pretty cool, CS and music. Dope. And since i have a TV now, i'm selling my tv card too which should get me another $30 for food.
