Well today was uneventful i guess. it was a lot better than work though. I got up got a haircut with my brother at supercuts. Cheaper than fantastic sams. Then i cleaned the inside of my car. Finally its a lot cleaner now. Then i drove up to ucla around 3, but it took an hour and 20 minutes, didnt know the mercedes benz classic was this week. OH well. Moved my tv and fridge and monitor into my room. Then i picked up my friend at rieber and we drove around and went to jack in the box. first time i've gone to jack in the box with my new car i realized. They put the cap in my drink crappy and it hit the top of my window just slightly. This caused it to spill all over the inside of my door but i cleaned it. so i dropped kenny off and went back to my apartment. I paged my other friend and picked her up and went to 3rd street and had dinner. wolfgang puck salad is good. Then we went to starbucks and borders and i dropped her off at home in gardena. After that around midnight i tried to call jason but he fell asleep so i'll see him later i guess. My day went pretty well but i guess it leaves me with things to think about. oh well, loose ends to fix i guess. Just like my car, but that is done now i bought the last thing i needed on thursday for $50 , two car emblems for teh back that fell off. yeah its a rip off at $50 but thats ok. i wanted them.

Man i am so tired from work. I got up at 6:30 , got to matts house at 7:15, drove to long beach, and we started at like 7:45. I found out we even were late, because we were told to start at 8 and not 7:30. So tommorrow we are going at 7:30. We stayed for overtime because we had done such a pathetic amount of work, and we were missing so many spare parts since everything was out of stock. I also learned that maxtor hard drives suck, becuase half our defects were failed maxtor hard drives. So many failed they were out of stock. So from 7:45 to 6pm, me and matt make about 8.25 an hour so we probably brought in about $70 after tax, and if we get our refunds like $8 more. Gonna do this 3 days a week for the next 8 weeks, so i'll have a decent amount of money to pay for gas and insurance and that stuff. Man, at least we only work 3 days a week.

You know i think that since college has started i've tried to be a good guy and be nice. And i think i'm a much nicer person than in high school. But i had a discussion with jj the other night. Do nice guys finish last? i mean there is a green day song about it. And well i just dont know.

Anyways, now that i've gotten past my thinking about life part of this post, i 'll tell you all what i did today. today i went with scott to try and get my muffler rebent, but they were all closed. then i played basketball. Man i was on fire one game had 9 of our 13 points . And at one point i was feeling sluggish and tired and i guess felt out of shape. So i was like i wonder if i can still touch the rim. we were at wilson park indoor courts so the rims are regulation there. I jump up and i was surprised. i only took one step and jumped, and i had my hand above the rim so i just grabbed on and i was like, damn i've never done that before. See guys working out actually helps. Soon i'll be dunking, i bet i could dunk a tennis ball now. haha. I also found out the cigarette lighter jack was messed up in my car but i was happy i fixed it when i took the center console apart and plugged a wire back in. Scott also looked at my air filter and told me that oily engine cavity cleaning fluid got sucked into it when they did my tune up and that there was crap all over it and i should get a new one.

Today , i didnt do too much. Went to the post office, which i will end up doing again tommorrow. Picked up terry , well actually he just showed up at my house. so i drove to fry's with him. My first lesson in 405 samurianess and i think i'm fine already. My mom doesnt seem to care if i take the freeway to westwood next week to bring my newly found TV to my apartment. I found that my aunt had borrowed and not kept our old 20" sony tv. Its like from 1986 , but its trinitron and works fine. So i'm gonna use that and tolu is bringing a dvd player. I also went to esuc. Esuc was well, i dont know i still feel like kinda an outcast. I have no idea what they are talking about or laughing at. oh well, i'll get my key the next time at least.

After that jj told me a rather sad and woeful tale on AIM. it pretty bad. And then after that i listend to mp3s, and i ended up listening to my rather small collection of the GOOD backstreet boys songs among others. Man thats lame, i need to find something to do.

Well today i went to the dealership again, and waited 2 and a half hours to get my car fixed. they changed my oils, and fluids and stuff and aligned my tires. They also fixed my wierd rumbling problem. It was a bent piece of metal touching the muffler , so they just bent it back. again free. Well here is a picture for those of you that didnt get to ride in it yet (you jason, and my ucla friends that go to this page). After that me matt chris, and brian just hung out at my house. Me and matt have to go down to the LBC soon to apply for our jobs.

Check out this new movie guys. Anyways after that read the rest of my post. I today got my bumper fixed. The nice people of torrance autobody, put a washer on the broken spot on my bumper so i didnt have to have the whole thing epoxied. You cant even tell its broken, and all it took was a washer and bigger bolt. They did it for free too. I also bought a nice ucla license plate frame, and scheduled my car tune up for tommorrow. I also wasted more gas just cruising around.

Me and terry visited jeff, and i think tommorrow i'm gonna go to the beach with Chris if i have time. Dont know what we are gonna do there, but whatever. Next week i start work at tatung tues-thurs for $8.50 or so an hour fixing junk. I think matts gonna go with me too probably. Like 730 to 6 daily, but we get 2 hours worth of overtime i think. Oh well i need the money. I was thinking of using touchup paint on my car, but screw it terry says it looks like crap. I might try one of those waxes that rubs the scratches away though later. Some guy on anandtech forums said it works. Oh well nothing else much to write about. I have completed 3 of 4 goals this summer woohoo.

I DROVE AROUND TODAY!. HAHAHA. i went and got matt and chris, and visited randy. then i went to a nissan dealership and bought a new logo, new radio button, a electrical relay and a screw. The screw i found out i didnt need. I thought i needed one, but it turned out a plastic holder thing on my fender was kinda broken, but i just screwed it in tighter. All i have to do now, is pound the metal that holds that screw back into shape, and fix it, and get place to glue the new logo on. Its a pretty nice ride. Anyways, that basically what i did today. Tried to visit like terry ivan and jeff because we were bored, but they werent there. Me and matt went to connie's later, but she had to go somewhere and i think they went and watched antitrust (fake ass movie).

I read JJ's page and well thats pretty depressing. Anyways JJ dont get all down, even though i'm not sure if anything good will happen, i still have hope and you should too. On the other hand i read this on askmen.com (which i just added to my links).

Well, i am getting closer to broke now. I didnt get the job at macy's. I was the first one they called out of the group interview to the one on one. I was gonna get it too, but they said i couldn't be hired because they'd have to screw around with their schedule too much once school started again. Oh well, i guess its time to go to kfc. I need money. I owe my parents $2000 for car insurance now. But i think i can pay them monthly or something. My car i hope will be here tommorrow, but my parents are pretty unreliable when they say my car is coming. At least the air conditioning got fixed, so now i just need a new volume knob and logo.

Other stuff i did this week. I upgraded my laptop to 800mhz. Its a little faster actually , seems to boot faster. Temi , tolu's little brother who is going to MIT, messed up his computer, so i fixed that today. He left the screws in it, and it screwed up some stuff since the screws were floating around. i'm happy nothing got broken. I downgraded him to win98, since he said he wanted the flexibiilty of upgrading and then downgrading from win2k. At least that is done. I need to raise money. Someone buy my FD trinitron 19" monitor. $250. Someone buy my fps2000s 4.1 speaker system. $50? I also got some nice mp3s this week. And my super death kick ass speaker system came. 140 watts RMS subwoofer. HAHAHA, its more powerful than most home theatres. I spent a long time washing the speaker's grills off though, there was dirt on them, but that is a small sacrifice for the $20 + shipping cost (90+ % off the $210 list price). The satelites even have a headphone jack!

I really wanna play some basketball. Too bad most of my friends are fat lazy computer science people or too uncoordinated to play that. Oh well, i will make them play anyways. hahah you know who you are. Speaking of fat compsci people, those people at ESUC are trying to make me go to a meeting at 7pm on wednesday. They want to go to el pollo loco and relaxation and then have the meeting. See my problem with that is i just wanna go to the meeting. Wasting all this time "hanging out" when a lot of them i dont really even talk to, well its a waste of time.

I was talking to JJ last night. And well we decided that we were gonna fight the good fight , even when it was hopeless, and after that keep fighting until we die. Anyways it was depressing. Well today my carless self walked to the post office again , only about 2 miles roundtrip, need to walk anyways. Sent out my stuff and came back and finished my ethernet job. Here is apicture of the fruit of my labor.

Right now its 6 ethernet ports, for my family room, and the 5 bedrooms. I could have hooked up the living room but no one is ever in there, and plus i'd have needed another plate since i only have space for 8 things, and 2 are for the cable tv amp hookup. I havent hooked cable up to all my rooms yet, only 3 of the 6 have cable tv right now. But thats a minor thing, ijust dont have the coax crimping tool. Anyways one of those 6 ethernet jacks is hooked up to the jack inthe living room , and is on the hubs uplink. So the other 5 rooms (only 4 have computers, just jack in and the router in the living room behind the tv gives them their IP with its dhcp thing. I also figured out how to finally make my AIM be able to send files through the router. I just had to put my computer on DMZ, sucks you can only have one computer on it. From my guess the AIM file send protocol, does a send file message which works fine through a NAT router, but when the recipient does a file get (odd way to do a file send, but works with the get file thing), then it doesnt know which computer on your lan is the one sending the files . I guess i could have done a port forwarder with the linksys thing, but this was easier and plus it works for everything not just a single port. Anyways, I think chris said he wanted to move in. haha.

Havent updated in a while. JJ yes you update too. Did a lot today. An odd thing today, i shaved again. And well i had this theory that on every day that i shave some bad gut wrenchingly emotional thing would happen. It has no happened 3 shaving days in a row. Of course i only shave like once a month usually. Well i mean completely when the moustache and goatee get out of control. Anyways it did happen, and i was in gut wrenching pain for a little while this morning, due to quite possibly divine intervention. I think its fate that i am tortured the way i am because it was a coincidence that wouldn't happen in a 1 in a trillion chance the exact way that it happened. I think it was supposed to remind me something. It happened at lunch and well that basically woke me up for the day. Lets just say i saw something i didnt like .

Anyways after losing my appetite for a bit, i continued to eat lunch with my dad. We were at marukai and i had like beef sukiyaki which looks like yoshinoyah beef with eggs and rice. really good. Went home and trying to keep myself busy and not thinking about the coincidence that i think fate made for me, i decided to finish the ethernet wiring in my house. Too bad i need to make another hole downstairs, because the 6 port faceplates i got only hold 4 ethernet ports. But i did wire my room, my brothers, my dads office room, and my family room. So now i just plug our computers into the ethernet jacks, and dhcp takes care of it all. Its really nice looking. After i did that terry came just as i finished. We went to visit jeff, and went to frys to help jeff get caught up with computers and for him to look for parts. Then i came home just in time to go to soup plantation. That was ok i guess.

Another thing horrible that happened is that UPS shipped my new laptop memory down the block somewhere. I tried 4 times to get it today, but they werent home all 4 times. What amazes me is that The address on the package was right, yet they sent it to the wrong place and even managed to write down the address of the wrong place they sent it to. Also i got in on this deal for a set of speakers from compaq for $40 shipped. Its got a 140 watt subwoofer . Yes jason eat your heart out your micro works only have like a puny 20 watt like the dtt 2500s. HAHAHA! 10 watt sats, and a headphone jack to boot. The sub is more powerful than the klisph 2.1s and the THD is .05% not horrible 10% like cambridges stuff. I thank anandtech for this hot deal. They are designed for professional audio work. Cool eh?

Yes i know my updates are hella long. Its because i dont update enough. Anyways 4th of july was good, had a good steak. My altima finally got its papers done. On tuesday its going to be delivered actually , after we pay dmv registration and taxes. My dad said it has 12000 miles, which seems like a lot for one year, but then again it had to be drive in from vegas. I learned that it has keyless entry. We're not sure about automatic transmission or abs yet, but i'm assuming it has it, because keyless entry is a high end options package. Well i'm out.

Actually following the beer before liquor never been sicker rule is a good idea. lets just say 4 beers and then bacardi 151 let me find out the hard way.

Well connie has been updating regularly and since i'm bored i'm gonna do that same. Nothing much has happened. Nothing significant anyways. Who'd have guessed that?

So far during this summer i've sold 200 some odd fans, for around $600 in profit. Sometimes i feel bad about being able to sell these fans, since well i am making money for doing almost nothing but sending emails, but then i thought well what can i do just not make the money, thats just stupid. And i bought 2 digital cameras that i should make another $150 on. I am trying to sell my 19" FD trinitron super flat monitor for like $250. If i do that i'll have enough for insurance. i still need a job though. My parents dont quite want me to work at kfc they think its disgraceful for a ucla student to work there. Oh well, i'm applying at copelands and macy's at del amo, those would be ok i suppose. There dont seem to be that many jobs this year. A friend of mine kochise who i talk to sometimes since my cousin james is a real good friend of his, said its been hard to find work in torrance lately. Must be the economic downturn, that and no one can get work at 500 dot com internships anymore.

This weekend on saturday morning i got yelled at since terry came real early. Apparently he said we were leaving for the swap meet at 8 and i didnt hear him. When i wanted to call him around midnight to ask, since he wasnt online, well my mom left the phone off the hook in her room so i couldn't call. So i figured we were gonna leave around 9 since after a while before we used to leave later since some of the trucks wouldn't show up till around then. Anyways i got yelled at , and then later i got yelled at more for being irresponsible because of that, and then we found out my brother was the one who left the phone off the hook in my mom's locked bedroom, of course he didnt get yelled at. Then i got grilled for having crappy grades again. Oh and then my dad said i was a lazy bum and shouldn't go to ucla because i failed to wire up the ethernet cable in our house, since i didnt think i should when i was missing more than half the parts and had no tools. And then he was like you shouldn't even go to college if you are gonna get crappy grades like that and for a minute i was just like fuck this i'm just gonna go get a job in tech support and leave , but then sanity struck and also i realized how much i like ucla. Oh yes this is how great it is in torrance for me. After that my mom nagged me for about half an hour saying i didnt walk straight and she just wouldn't stfu. Anyways we did go to the swapmeet and i got a $10 usb hub for all my usb crap at fry's. Brian over the past week bought a ton of stuff for his computer and finally got his motherboard and chip at frys.

Later on i read that my laptop can have 512mb of ram, so i bought 256mb more of infineon to match mine. Cost me $67 shipped so not bad. Since i can only have 2 memory modules, i sold one of my 2 128mb ones for $34 shipped and so now i'll have 384mb which should be plenty for windows xp and stuff. I was also real bored and looked into how much it would cost to upgrade cpu and hard drives, and well hard drives the only sensible upgrade would be to a 32gig 5400rpm model (mine is 10 gigs with better density but 4200rpm) and that was $300 so screw that i dont need more space, just more speed for cheap since win2k takes an hour to boot and well that wasnt worth it at all. A new p3-800 chip was $230 and i could see that being not too bad since i could sell my 700 but i cant figure out how to take the chip out. I am still cleaning crap out of my room, sold my old ati rage128 that my neighbor stan had been borrowing, and am in the process of selling my mp3 player and my tv tuner. Ack so much crap i bought in the past that i dont even use. At least one think i bought became useful. I used some amazon certificate to get a 2nd set of my big headphones and the padding started coming off mine and i found it in a closet, so i have new ones now. cool.

Me and tolu finally got out apartment. We are gonna end up living with this 24 year old greek guy alex, on ohio and veteran. its a real nice apartment, you should all visit it sometime.
