Damn I installed CDR win 3.8 because i saw niboy had the unreal tournament ISO and cue sheet. Now I really hate CDR WIN because its not very good and cue sheets suck. Well anyways i load up the cue sheet for Unreal Tourney and burn it. It doesn't work, i get a CD with nothing on it. Yet another reason to prefer nero. Why cant everyone just use nero. The .nrg image just isn't very popular. I'd rather use ez cd creator isos than stupid .bins. Wasted another CD-r. Right now i've got adapter, nero and cdrwin installed and they all work as far as i know. Damn cdrwin sucks. And what else sucks is that I'm hungry but everyone's sleeping so its probably a bad time to eat cup noodles.

Well I had fun this weekend. Had actual Turkey thanks to my aunts sister who married a white man. Her son said thanksgiving wouldn't be the same without turkey so we had real good turkey. I saw The world is not enough with jason and the loers. It probably wasn't worth money. A good download i guess. I have that on asf now. I wanna see dogma.... The day after thanksgiving i bought a digital camera and well i tried it out and it sucked so i returned it. Today there was a nice HP megapixel one at officedepot and the guy said he'd sell me the display one for $140 which is $160 off. but they lost the cable so screw that. Yesterday I went to a nice Japanese restaurant with kyung, gary, jason , chris, connie, lynn, ami and sophia. Jason gary and kyung got tired of waiting and ate at rubios. I got kind of mad that my order took so long. Some other guy who came later got his exact same order like 10 minutes before me. It was good food though. Then we saw toy story 2 and that was good. Terry and erin came for that. Then we all went to lynn's house after ice cream except terry and played mafia and talked. that was pretty fun i guess. it probably would have been more fun with more people. And now i'm sitting here in my room at UCLA since no one is back yet. Still haven't started my evil chem. I was about to eat some cup noodles in my new water bioler thingy , but i dont have a fork. I guess I'll start that Chem now.

Went to ANIME club meeting. yup thats right. One thing called berserker was good. It was like animated braveheart with no plot. Then the one after it was about parallel universes and I like parallel universes like in star trek i loved those. so that one was pretty good. the other one was really gay. had some girl that screamed a lot. before that was one about some ninja and some girl who conveniently had all her clothes burned off. After that i leeched a cup noodles from terry, and then went to connies and talked to some girl terry knew from the anime club on connies floor. she had all these pictures of japanese rock stars who dressed like girls. real strange. she had a death computer too. And was in pic. All the anime undeclared peopls are in PIC (programming in computing c++ class for non engineers).

Notepad sucks ass. Every time you go over 32k i need to go into wordpad to do this. That is a design flaw. Anyways, i did little to nothing today as usual. I went to my Compsci TAs office hours to pick up my other projects and my midterm. She didn't show so that sucked. I turned in project 5 though so at least i dont have to go over there tommorrow to do that. After that I ate and then went to math. Got my midterm back . I got 151/200. Woohoo! Woohoo you say? yes Woohoo because i thought i'd get less than 140. Anyways, i looked at it and if i had known what d^2/dx^2 meant and had not made x^5 into 5x then i could have even gotten another A. So I feel pretty good because they were just stupid mistakes not like i was incapable of doing this right. After math I took a nap for 3 hours. And then I woke up from a phone call. I was about to take Nap 2, but instead went and ate dinner with connie and mary and erin and terry and melissa. Then I ended up fixing Lynn's computer and installing Lotus' network card. After that i proofread connies essay on some vase. I think I'll be ok with writing since I can write like that at least. Then I refreshed my memory about pointers. I'm down for next quarter now. Cool. Also the Clippers won on sunday. They beat the wizards but still... they are 3-7. Maybe they can get up to .500. That and mo taylor is a bum and they should start skinner. Anyways... I'm gonna go back to my vegetable like state now.

I figured out the difference between humanities/ arts majors , science /engineer majors. If you are in humanities you are doing things to basically entertain people and let them have fun. If you are in science usually you are researching things to make people live longer or keep the world from all rotting or saving things in the world. Except astronomy I guess. If you are an engineer you make stuff that makes the world more efficient. Making things more efficient makes things more productive. Productivity increases mean that each person on earth is doing more. Which means were all all doing more work. And its all us engineers fault. So you can call us all satan now.

Well nothing happened today. It was really cold. That sucked. Ruled out basketball. I wrote up my project 5. Tried to do math. Math sucks. Read some chem. Chem sucks too. Funny thing was that I was looking at a picture and was confused because the green ( i found that out later) wasn't really red. So i asked Tolu and well he didn't know either because he was actually colorblind. Cool even more colorblindness!!! BTW download this song. Tell me what you think.

Well today I thought I was gonna see Amedeus. I was wrong. Connie and Keri got in a little accident. Read it on Connies page. Uh.... We couldn't get tickets because they didnt have student rush and there were no seats and we weren't gonna pay $30 to see it so we didnt. The guy from 3rd rock from the sun was there. Then we went to City walk again. Ate at some place I forgot the name, because it was warm in there and it was cold. Terry didnt eat and he looked like he was gonna die or something.

USC beat us. Of course Lewis or whatever #82 on SC stepped out of bounds but they ruled it a touchdown. Had it been called out of bounds it would have been 3rd and goal so they probably would have scored anyways. Ryan Mcann sucks. Deshaun Foster doesn't suck , he just sucked today. Oh well. Morale was down at UCLA. Almost totally forgot about this whole thing after what happened tonight. Well January 12th 2000 is the date to watch. Its the first basketball game between UCLA and USC. the second is in february sometime. Anyways out team of Moiso, rush, gadzuric, watson and the new freshman that i forgot his name, well we'll kick their ass since their basketball team sucks. Hope we get to the sweet16 at least this year.

Well its pretty late now. I just got through watching The Mummy with connie, mary, erin and keri. Keri left early and the other 3 fell asleep, so I had to clean up the floor and turn of the TV myself. The movie was pretty good. It was worth watching. Brenden Frasier never seemed to run out of bullets. Its real wierd is that i'm not tired. I could probably just not sleep for another day, but then i'd be real tired and I've got stuff to do so I think i'll take a nap now.

I reoptimized my traveling salesman code today. Got it down from running 387429489 loops to just 362880 loops. a good improvement. The 10 city version executes in about 12-15 minutes now which is acceptable. Woohoo. And there are people who haven't even started this yet. *Cough* terry *Cough* *cough*. I actually had fun doing this. Now i know how carmack feels all the time.

So much for studying.... i glanced at my sheet a couple times. I learned that the integral of sec is ln(secx+tanx) . that is all. For some reason AIM wouldn't connect. So i reinstalled it and strangely it works now. Didn't do much today. Damn midterm tommorrow. I want an A. that would be good. Oh well. I dont know if its gonna happenen. Well officially its my roomates birthday so Happy Birthday Scott. Me and Tolu came up with nothing to do for him so you can call us bad roomates now.

Okay firealarms suck. I was sleeping this afternoon and it went off again. Also I figured out a way to rebuild my compsci project into an efficient program that doesn't take forever. The brute force lame o program. Its is gonna be like going throught a maze in a 2d matrix and theoretically it cuts the number of loops down from n cities to the n cities power , to just n factorial.

Also my math midterm is tommorrow. I 've got a sheet of paper here that i copied out of the back of the book. once i remember all these trig d/dx and integration things then i'll be great.

WEll this sucks. I've fixed some bugs in my city route finding program. And well there was a sample with 6 cities and it worked perfectly and took about 2 seconds to compute. Of course there are only 3125 combinations to that. but there was also one with 10 cities and there is a mind boggling 387420489 combos. So either i come up with a new algorithm or i'm screwed. this sucks. According to my calculations it should take something like 70 hours to run the 10 city one at this rate. this sucks. I need a new algorithm.

Well I did some math with connie and terry. You could call it studying. We have a midterm on thursday. Actually we just did the sample midterm and goofed off and bothered other people who were studying. I probably got a lot more out of it than them because i couldn't remember how to do most of the problems, so they did them and i remembered. I also fixed the network thing in marys computer while we were waiting for terry to get back from his shower. I hate how windows had muliple user accounts because you have to fix it in all of them i found out today. Also I somehow got sucked into buying a $1.75 haagen daz bar. It was good though and the vacuum cleaner machine thingy was entertaining. Then after that i ate my ice cream and played with the long phone cord. And then erin played movie music and I heard the bad boys theme and that was cool. Terry says i'm too happy again. I dont know why, but i am in a happy mood, nothing really good happened i just am happy again. wierd.

Well me and lynn ran today. And ran , and ran and ran. No actually it was quite fun. I felt really good afterwards. Running up Janns steps and the reiber steps was fun, but it hurt later in the calves. We ran for about 45 minutes, but we stopped like 5 minutes to get water and walked maybe 5 minutes other than that. Still it was probably more than i've run in probably 2 years. I'm surprised i had fun. After and before that there were several failed attempts at studying. Gaurav across the hall says that my computer died because its an AMD. well if it were an athlon it would be better. Its because its super7. Also jason luckily had the copy of project 5 i sent him and sent it to me so i'm okay. woohoo.

I've come to a conclusion. First I'll state the facts. Everything bad is going on now. And the year 2000 is coming up. The yeah 2000 is not the beginning of the next century, but rather the end of the current one. So it is the beginning of the end so to speak. Now for my theories. Well first off I believe that good and bad balance out. Just like how my luck is. So if everything bad happens now then later on everything good will happen and if everything is going great for you know well its gonna suck for you later. I am talking specifically about things you cannot control. I.e. Grades are something you do control, and so is your weight etc. Anyways I figure there are two possiblities for the future. Either A) the opposite of what is happening now will happen. or B) were all gonna die. Now I really would like option A to happen. That would be very nice. Option B is a non-issue since well if were all dead then it doesnt matter. Another acceptable option would be a slight derivative of option B. Most people die (the bad ones that i think are evil and should die anyways) but i dont. This solves many problems (i.e. overpopulation, resource problems, etc). So overall since its bad right now i've got a pretty positive outlook because realistically it cant get any worse. resource/ energy problems, etc).

In yet another reference to how bad it is, something bad happened today. For some reason I rebooted my computer and it said that it couldn't init configmg. So somehow windows was fucked and I had to reinstall. I ended up backing up everything except my project 5 that took 5 hours to do. This sucks. Now the one good thing that happened today was my compsci midterm. Of course this wasn't out of my control so it doesn't kill the point above. The midterm was from 4-6. We started at 4:10. I finished at 4:30. The professor looked at me funny and checked his watch like 3 times before taking it from me. Now that was funny. And it was so easy too. We didn't even have to write any code. Just had to find out what specific code segments would do and find some bugs. I anticipate a 90% or higher grade.

I beat minesweeper on expert!!!! Check out my screenshot. Yeah, Yeah I know what you guys are all probably thinking. Something like "Hans is insane", "Hans is a total dork/nerd" or "Holy shit is this what I have to look for in college." Well i say to all of you, shut your ass.

In other news. I did nothing today. I guess that is anti-news. Well actually I did do half my math homework which is enough for me to be satisfied with. I went to dinner with erin and mary and jordan. There was good fried chicken. Well it was okay, a little oily and a little too much seasoning on it but it was still way better than usual. And there was good chicken in Covel last night. Pomeray or something. And lastly as mentioned above I beat minesweeper on expert so I probably wont be playing that anymore.

You dont know what 5 hours of programming can do to a person. Actually 4 hours of thinking and and hour of actual typing. After the program is done you are so happy. And doing all that thinking gets your mind off things. I can find the shortest distance between 10 points!!!!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!! This is so cool.

You know what sucks. I was thinking and well no matter how well I do in college or whatever job I get or no matter how successful I am that it never will matter in the course of the world. (Well I guess if i took over the world and blew it up or something, but realistically, no) So what is the point to all this. If we have fun, were gonna die. If we work hard were gonna die. If you are smart, you're gonna die. If you are a moron you are gonna die. So why worry about anything that isn't gonna make you happy. Because its inevitable that you die so might as well be happy before that. So I've answered the question. "What is the meaning of life?" Answer: "Nothing" . There is no meaning. Basically all you should do is do the minimum amount that will keep you satisfied with yourself and whatever you care about. Because if you do any more than that, since you are just gonna die then its just a waste of effort. Oh yeah BTW you should listen to Chris Rock's - no sex in the champagne room. The part when he's saying all the horoscopes.

Well today I didn't do much. Ate lunch. It was a very quiet lunch. No one wanted to talk. Then I went to math and came back and did wednesdays math homework. After that I played some minesweeper. Then I chatted with connie and mary and erin on AIM for maybe an hour. I stared at my insane compsci project about a traveling salesman. Being a non-lamer I figured out the algorithms myself instead of waiting for the lame ass TAs to give it to me. That took a good two hours of thinking. Then they went to a museum and I ate with terry. I met these two girls terry knows Alice and Erin. They are compsci majors. Then I came back and watched the lakers get their asses killed. After that I got real bored and worked on project 5. I wrote about half the program. The only part left is a function i need to count the distance traveled and the main distance sorting function. Now I think I'm gonna sit on my ass and listen to mp3s.

I have no concluded that Open Linux 2.3 can kiss my ass. I tried installing it again and I put 4mb video card this time. Everything was fine until i restarted. The Lilo thing didn't work again. I guess Linux doesn't like not being on the primary hard drive. So after that first booting of linux I couldn't boot it again because there was no lilo. Secondly linux's formatting utility nuked my G drive which was the one with nearly 10 gigs of movies on it. For that Caldera's easy to install setup BS can kiss my ass. KDE looks real nice though. Other bad thing was I couldn't find any place with a Linux AIM client so that blew. Next time I do this I'm gonna use Red Hat 6.1. So now I've lost my collection, not too big a deal though since I really never watch them I just sort of collected them. The 27 gig has now been reformatted for the 3rd time. I did get to keep my ISOs which are actually much more useful than the movies.

Well i didn't do much this weekend. I did get my refridgerator and I just finished to stupid write up for project 4. I had this stupid stomach ache. It sucked, but its okay after i ate oreos. I brought a network card and some ram, a new video card, and a mic from home. The fridge is very useful I can store some of the old pink lemonade in it. That is cool. Terry insulted 1/4 of my race by calling us flips. Its a derogatory comment. I'm not really offended because I dont really identify with my Filipino side. //has been removed. I stooped to terry's level. Anyways as for the guy he was talking about, well whatever floats your boat.

Well i'm going to Torrance before Thanksgiving. I'll be there today at 6pm probably I'll leave 10 am on sunday about. If you wanna drop by and see me go ahead. I need to get food and computer parts. I think i'll take terry's advice and take my brothers riva128 and then give him my banshee. Then i'll just have this spare rage2c 4mb I guess i could give it to Loer or something on thanksgiving. THen he'll have a slot free for that 56k pci modem i have. That rage2c doesn't support the special overlay mode my tv card needs so it locks up. Connies's rage pro doesn't support it either so I guess riva 128 it is for me. ALso check out this link. Its kind of sick. BTW I wasn't sick yesterday. I just needed some sleep. Also I'm gonna have good food this weekend since i'll be in torrance. Though many people gain weight at college I have not. I play basketball and eat half as much as lynn does so I've lost about 15 pounds so i'm like 160 now instead of 175. BTW the coolest thing the other day was when I kept crossovering this tall guy and he sprained his ankle. I even passed well yesterday like no look passes and everything. Plus I can run longer. Wow college has even made me healthier. Dope.

I played some basketball today. Had one good game where i felt I played real well. Talked to terry at dinner about stuff. Then I realized I shouldn't have. great. I feel tired right now. I think I've got a low flu because of playing basketball when it was so cold, i'm sure 60F or less. Ate horrible food at covel. Tried to cover the steak up with 2 types of steak sauce. It didn't work. I've tweaked my project 4 a little. Its finished besides the documentation and BS. I got a lot of old mp3s. Some jodeci ones. They are real good. I need more stuff to do. When I finally stop updating this page, dont think I'm dead. It just means that i'm totally lazy or i'm having a lot of fun.

I forgot the other day I played basketball. I was sucking. But anyways this movie producer guy named Dalwin starts running with us 4 on 4. So i'm getting the crap beat out of me by this guy who is built like Daichi only stronger. Plus the guy was tripping me a lot. So I scored like once and mr Dalwin who we will refer to as old asshole bastard from now one stares me down. And I'm on his team too. So I tried to pass to him, but they had me double teamed (the buff guy was real slow so I could beat him of the dribble every time so terry's man started guarding me since terry wasn't doing shit). Anyways like I ended up having to pass out to old asshole bastard every time and he missed. SO he kept saying shit like "lets play some D" and "c'mon guys run". Of course i'd been running for like an hour by then so I wasn't exactly as peppy as old asshole bastard. So another time the guy i was guarding me tripped me again. He kept posting me up and then taking his left leg and putting it across mine and kicking back so i'd be on the floor a lot. Anyways old asshole bastard gets the ball after they score and stares at me for like 10 seconds and says something like "DO you have him (my man)". So i'm really pissed and we lose like 13-3 which i scored one of that first time. So i dont even shake hands with his ass and just leave.

As for today, the fire alarm went off at 10am today and we had to evac courtside. that sucked. And then I went to my math class and connie's chem class. Learned a little. Did my project 4 CS project in about 20 minutes. Spaced out a lot. Ate a baked potato for dinner. Its so wierd i'm not even hungry still. Watched 2 guys and a girl, and norm and some lakers in connies room (my tv card sucks, i wish i had a real tv, tv card keeps locking up , dammit). tried to make connies sound card work it is all screwed up now mp3s sound funny. And now i'm here, with nothing to do again so that is why i'm updating.

Make em say uhhh! Uhhh!! NA NA NA NA!!!!! Woohoo! i got 138/150 on my chem midterm. Do you know what that means. Yes that means 92% and that Hans is still on track to get that elusive 4.0 GPA. Haven't had one since 6th grade you know. Got up at 7:30 today to go to chem and turn in CS project 3. After I got my test I left Chem. I was jumping up stairs thinking "make em say uhhh, uhhh , na na na na" (btw that is a master p song not something i just made up). BTW I can thank Connie for all of this since she arranged the big studying session last week in the reiber 3 "sex box" lounge. Without that I wouldn't have known what a work function was and a bunch of other quantum mechanics stuff.

Happy Halloween! Saw a lot of people in costumes today. I went to universal city walk with erin, connie and mary today. They bought some sandals and a water weenie and other girl things. I had $10 on me so I had to actually borrow money and pay it back after we got back. I feel like a scrub. Jason in texas was right. Anyways that was fun and on the way back we saw a bunch of "chulos" driving like morons and getting the window on their car broken off by a van. And Mary was all scared. And connie though that they carjacked the guy in the van either that or he drove off and one of the guys in the moron car ran after it. Then later on they saw what a "cute" guy in a brand new BMW m3 and mary opened her window and yelled "i love you", but the guy though it was connie and they tried to carry on a conversation while driving. That made their day. Then we came back and I went and got change and paid back the money i owed. THE END
