Ok I got an email from jelena my CS31 TA. She said i got like 68% on my final and a B- in the class. This means i have a 2.8 GPA. I was expecting something like an A in the class. Now if I actually deserved this grade I wouldn't be mad. But the fact that all the people I was TUTORING probably got better grades makes me mad. Terry got an A. I'm sure Gaurav did too. Damn Melkanof. Now my grade isn't officially posted on URSA online yet so maybe its a mistake or she read the wrong line of the grade spreadsheet. But if it is true I'm gonna go and open up a can of whoop ass. Because dammit I CAN PROGRAM. Fucking TA. She didnt even know how to use cin.get . SHe said it was a value returning function. Dumbass.

In other news I got my camera and surprisingly my camera case today. The camera is dope. 2 problems. THe serial download to the computer is excruciatingly slow and the optical viewfinder doesn't work very well if you wear glasses. If you dont it work fine. Well problem #1 will be fixed with the free USB smart media reader. Also tommorrow I'll be getting my 16mb memory card. So i'll be able to take lots of shots just it'll take forever to download it to my computer. If i was at school right now i'd upload some pics. I think Terry is gonna buy a kodak dc210 plus for $249 at office depot. It has an optical zoom. Damn i wish I could have afforded an optical zoom. Digital zoom is a completer load of BS

Ok, i'm that bored. I decided to update. Lots of things have been happening. Mostly good. Went to lynn's party, watched Any given sunday (dope movie, everyone go watch it), and then went to the net party which i left after 3 hours or so yesterday. I just cant play games for very long anymore, maybe we'll play diablo 2. We went to emerald bbq (me , terry, terry's brother, chris and juney), then we talked for a while at terry's (and terry pummeled me and chris which isn't usually too bad but i turned around and he punched me in the kidney area and it hurt a shitload) and then I ended up sleeping over at loer's because we had some unexpected glitches with plan delta golf lima. Anyways, my digital camera came today, but since i was at loer's I didn't get it. My sister answered the door to the UPS guy, but Luke's ass is too slow to get to the door and he left. Damn he's worthless. (yes i was very mad at the fact that he couldn't make it to the door in under 5 minutes) Anyways no big problem it'll be here tommorrow. The only bad thing is that best buy was selling it for $25 less than i paid. They also have a $20 rebate, but you only have on UPC code so its either $20 or the smart media reader. I found out that you still need stupid drivers and batteries for the floppy adapter so there is no linux support, so i'm thinking i'll get the usb reader since its faster. I also bought a fuji camera case on buy.com today for $2.85 because there was free shipping, and a 16mb smartmedia card from ic-direct since buy.com was out of stock. So i should be able to hold about 25 super high quality photos. Now to go to radio shack and get some NiMH batteries. I need to go take pictures of all my cousins. Especially James since I never see him and for his help in operation delta golf lima. Also this time all the memory and the case are being shipped to my grandmas so i dont have to rely on my brother / get up early.

Christmas was really fun. But me and my cousins felt kind of guilty. I was talking to my cousins justin and janssen and well it was bad to just go to the party, eat food, and rake in cash. Well i guess i'll have to deal with it :). Me and justin are in college and he says that i'll need the money. I got $500 or so and another watch. The economy is good. Also since school went out my stocks are down a good $1000, so that sucks. I hope it recovers. I hope, I hope , I hope. Some people would actually be happy about this for capital gains , but i dont make enough money for that to matter so i'm screwed. On Xmas day we were pretty bored. I played basketball for about 3 hours. Me and a bunch of my younger cousins (james, janssen, dennis and a two banana slugs jason mealins and david who aren't related) played basketball 5 on 5 against my old cousin (he's like 28) and his old friends. We won one game and lost one. I cant' believe we lost. I mean we had more height, more speed, better shooting. I mean sure we played horrible defense and no team work but c'mon! (feel the sarcasm) After that we were bored that night. So after the laker - spurs game we went to AMC but the lines were too long. So we didnt know breakzone was open but it was. So we played pool and me and james saw this one hot asian girl with these fob guys. So Janssen goes "oh yeah i played pool with her last time". And i'm thinking "lucky bastard." Plus janssen has quit his job at toyota. I think he now has realized how worthless a econ degree at UCLA is (or bizecon if you wanna be gay like that). He's gonna be a java programmer at a place called red dog software.

Lastly I've been on accutane. Its a powerful pimple drug that costs $423 a month. (thank god for insurance) Anyways my acne is getting better i'm not getting that many painful whiteheads anymore and when i pop them (weeee.eeee popping whiteheads is fun... not) they heal really fast. I have to stay on this for 5 months. Jason was on it last year and you can see that it helped him. Oh and most lastly. Damn i miss UCLA.

Cool! i was on fuji's site. And i found out that the camera i have has a free coupon for either a floppy disk / smart media adapter , or a USB smartmedia card reader. I think i'm gonna get the floppy adaptor since it costs $70 and also the usb on via chipsets isnt so great. plus i can use the floppy adapter in linux. This free adapter dealy more than offsets the $40 more this costs than the $199 2mb cameras. I figure that a 2mb smartmedia is at least $10 and the adapter so it more than makes up for the $40 difference.

Ok in my insanity I bought myself a dope ass xmas present. I was gonna go get that fuji dx-10 .85 megapixel cam with 1.6x zoom, 2megs and 1024x768. It was $199.99 at compusa plus tax so it would be $215. But i checked online and well the fuji mx-1200 that has 1280x960, 4megs and a 2x zoom was only $244 + $10 shipping from texas. So i went crazy and bought it. This is my xmas present to myself. Yeah....

I fucked up something when i was playing with my tables. I fixed it. If you read my source you can see that the backgrounds are going to be changed. The logo is now a transparent gif. The clipper logo is gone. It'll be back. Once i find a cool looking background i'll change it. It might be a while. I'm leaving for the dreaded torrance tommorrow. I 'm gonna try and get my drivers license again. Hopefully i'll get it this time or else I will go crazy. Thats all for now.

Well corl is back up to 24 1/2 in after hours. So hopefully it'll keep going. Its earnings are going to be announced on my birthday. Hopefully corl will give me a good birthday present. i spent all of last night hanging out with JC and her desker friends at covel. I think people get a tad delirous from 12 - 6 am.

Well yesterday Jason came. We ate a hedrick and he thinks the food here is gourmet. Anyways no one could go with us anywhere since they all had finals the next day. So we went to westwood. And we walked to his sisters apartment. ANd then we walked to one of the movie theatres and watched princess mononoke in english by disney. It was a good movie. SO we walk back and the ghetto bird is hovering above with its night sun. Really wierd. Westwood was really dead, the frat houses were even quiet. So we come back and we go up to connies and do basically nothing. So we just went online for like 3 hours (jason brought his laptop). So around 5am we go to sleep. I woke up at 10:45 and jason was like shit I've got to be at DM at 12. So he left real quick. Then I checked the stocks and well... thanks to A) UCLA's internet access sucking ass , and B) the fact that i used the advice of the Finanacial magic 8 ball. I held onto corel instead of selling. I did not know that the CFO resigned. So on monday I had $4700. Now I have $3100. This is a depressing moment. Hopefully it'll move back up. No camera for me dammit. //update. Due to aftermarket trading i'm down to $2900 now.

I checked the answers online. I got between 50-55% on my math final. If the points are scaled as 250 for the final 200 for each midterm and 70 for the quizes , then i have 530/720, which is like a C. now if the final is worth 400 then i am royally screwed with 605/870 which is almost 70% so like a C- i guess. This is without curves. I think the curve on the final will be around 70% or so. And since i only did about 6 problems that i got right well.... I might get a B- if the curve is good.

Well today I went and ate at puzzles. Had me a Chilli dog. And then i went to see the green mile. It was a "different" movie, but was pretty good. Then i watched some anime for 3 and a half hours. I'm sure this will be on someone elses page pretty soon.

Also I got like 45% on my math final today. I hope there is a curve because from what i've heard the final was really really hard. Tommorrow is daytrading again. And tuesday i have chem. Jason will come up on tuesday after the evil final. Then i'll be done for the quarter. I'm not going back to Torrance till friday because well why the hell would I?

Well I installed redhat 6.1 today. I've got gAIM and corel word 8 on it. I can play mp3s on XMMS because i used sound config and the sound works. I had to uninstall the gnome packages because i wanted to use the kde desktop. But then i reinstalled the GNOME packages again and it was still KDE. I also figured out how to use Xconfigurator so that i could get out of 8bit color and go to 24bit 1152x864. My computer feels so fast in linux. I've got kmail and netscape i dont know if i'll ever need windows except for visual c++ and my burner stuff. I"ve got 6 gigs of my hard drives dedicated to linux. I need to figure out how to get my fat32 partitions to mount. Corellinux had something for that , but red hat doesnt seem to. That way i can play my mp3s. Also I need to find out how to set up my user account so that i can see my other cdrom drive. On root i can see it but i cant on my user. Also if anyone knows why does it always want the root password when i try to look at the cd drives on my account? is it because its trying to run gnomerpm on the redhat CD or because my user cant use the cdrom.

Less importantly i took my CS final. probably got an A. As usualy there were some totally retarded questions.

Well , both me and jason probably aren't getting athlons now. So much for that impulse buy. I guess my good old k6 will have to keep running. If i get rid of the tv card it'll be fine. Also I remembered my dad said his friend could get me an internship in cupertino at Hewlett packard over the summer. It would be a compsci type thing. I think i'm gonna consider this. Even though it would cost more to live there than i'd make. And i'd have to look for an apartment. Figuring that i could be in torrance the whole summer working at taco bell, or working at HP in the bay well....

So far so good for today. I hit sell on LNUX at $253 per share. Somhow it ended up selling at $235. Anyways. So I was down quite a bit. Maybe $800 on that stock lowering yesterday's winnings to $200. So then i see corl dropping fast. And grab it at 33 3/4 120 shares. Then it starts flying and I sell at 38 1/2. This was one rally that lasted about 10 minutes. So I made about $580 there. Then a little while later i see corel is $29 3/8. SO i grab it 140 shares. I falls to $28 , but is now at $29.5 and now i'm waiting for it to hit $35 - 36.

Ok well I sold ANDN at 81 11/16. That was a profit of $1000. So then LNUX opened at a staggering 299. So i saw it hit 250 and placed my order. Bad thing is that it took a long time to execute and I ended up getting it at 285 since i put market order. Right now on after market it is trading around 245-258 so if i take 250 as a reference point I lost about $600 of that $1000 i made. Hopefully it makes it back tommorrow. That way I can say I was profitable the whole week.

Well andover didnt open till 9am. i stayed up till 7 am waiting and placed a limit buy at 32. that didnt work since it opened at 45. woke up at 11am saw it dip to 56 bought it. still in at 63 1/2. tommorrow should go up because much buying at the end and more linux hype from lnux. then i buy lnux. made $350 in paper gains today. Havent sold yet. Connie probably wont get her jacket. I'll get my athlon.

I cant believe i'm still up. Andover.net ipo in an hour and 20 minutes. I've pretty much decided on my athlon 500 sd11 combo. I'm gonna learn to solder well. Gonna buy andover. sleep. then sell. then buy va- linux the next day. insane you say. yes its is. but i'm gonna have an awful lot of spending cash.

So far today has been good. This morning i get up and check my stocks. My corel which i bought 3 days ago at 16 5/8 is up to 20 3/4. So i watch it for a little while and it seems pretty stagnant at that price and i was talking to terry about it so i sold at 20 1/2. I wanted to stay till 1 pm so that i could watch what was happneing but i had a math quiz so i left for math at 12. So i come back and corel is at 22 3/4. And I'm like fuck. It started really moving at around 12:20 am. My profits for the 3 days amount to $570 after commissions which amounts to a total $3208 in my account from the $2450 I had 2 weeks ago after finally getting out of that evil 3dfx. Anyways. I've got a good amount of capital now and am ready for that va linux IPO. If all goes well i may have $10000 or so by the time xmas rolls around. Dammit. And to think i put up a limit sell order at 22 this morning and cancled it for fear that massive profit taking would happen the last hour. Remember kids. Everything happends the first hour and the last hour. VA-Linux is pricing tommorrow. It will go on the marker thursday morning. If all goes as planned people will get decent xmas gifts this year.

Well I went down to westwood again. This time I actually returned the digital camera. I went to circuit city and tower records. I wanted to get tolu some headphones. Stupidly I now realized that I should have looked for headphones in affordable portables when i went in there looking for cameras. Now I've come to another decision. I can either get a fuji dx-10 .85 megapixel camera for $199 at compusa. Of a fuji mx-1200 1.3 mega pixel for $250 online. Or an athlon. Hopefully i'll make enough money this week that I can get both a camera and a athlon. Also i got my chem midterm back. I got 109/150. Not so great. I deserved it though. So hopefully I can get a B or so on my final so I can get a B in the class. Right now I've got 300/375 in the class which is exactly 80% and not very good. Good thing i never have to take chem again. As of now i've got a B- in chem, B+ in math, and A-/A in compsci. So overall around a 3.3/3.4 GPA. I've now lowered my standards. Anything above 3.0 is respectable.

You know what? I've been feeling really good lately. Wow. I mean finals week is coming up and I really dont even care. hmmm.. BTW everyone buy stock symbol LNUX on friday next week. I will. Gonna sink every dollar into it. I figure at least 40% gain. You will not be sorry to follow my advice. I need to play some basketball tommorrow. I just feel like running and gunning. Hell i'd play right now if the light were on outside.

Okay I found out yesterday that the Fuji dx-10 camera with a true 1024x768 lens and lithium batteries and a zoom for the same price as my camera at compusa. At first I was thinking about returning it, but terry talked me out of it. So Gaurav across the hall said that i should call ritz camera and see if i can return it. Well they have an unconditional return policy without any gay restocking fee (i asked). All I have to do is return it in 30 days and still have the box, which i do. Or I can tell them that buy.com has it for $165 and get the difference. So I think I might get the fuji now during xmas break or there is the remote possibity of spending another $130 and get an athlon. I kind of feel bad for returning all these things, but I guess everyone does it. Like Jason and his dvd drive and terry with all that stuff he canceled. So now i dont feel so bad about abusing the system. I guess since i've got that guarantee that i should go take lots of pictures with it while i have it.

As for today's stocks I did something real stupid. I figured that people were just manipulating the stock price on AMD. Because every day it would close at 29 and a half and then during after hours trading it would go up to 30 1/2 because people were maniputating the stock. So i sold this morning at 29 1/2 and bought some corel at 16 5/8. Corel had fallen from 18 1/2 in like 2 hours so i figured i could day trade it at the bottom and buy back the AMD later. But the AMD went up to 31 in regular trading and the corel went down to 16 3/16. so i guess this was a pretty stupid move on my part. Hopefully the redhat takeover rumor will come back next week and i'll see corel up at 26 again.

Ok today wasn't very exciting. I did get a digital camera though. It has up to 1024x768 with resolution enhancement. the lens is only native 640x480. The difference between this and cheap ass cameras is that cheap ass cameras have 640x480 after resolution enhancement of 320x240. Anyways it cost $200 in westwood, and is an agfa 780c. Real cool, i can't believe i found one, its sold out almost everywhere one the net. Its probably the only camera $200 and less with an lcd that is decent and still in production. Anyways I've taken the time to take pictures of my room so that you who haven't seen it (probably just Jason and jj and brian) can see it.

High school sucked ass. It was a place where you learned about as much as you do watching TV. (Think about it , want vocabulary watch a law drama, want history got the history channel. Hell the history channel makes zartman obsolete). I think it was a good place to learn how to deal with being depressed, bitter, or both. That and allowing you to learn how to hate people without showing it.
