I worked at DM with Jason again for about 5 and a half hours. After that we went to the Alan net party but didn't stay over. It wasn't looking too great , they were playing warcraft2 which is always a sign. After that we ate at the only good food place open at 11pm, Dennys. It was weird we saw Kyle, Laura, Peter Shih, Ami and Roland there. I think Roland was in my English class last year, I'm not sure. Anyways today was a pretty good day. The whole stock market was down again except my AMD managed to only go down by 1/8. Cool. Tommorrow I'm gonna go to the swapmeet.

Well today I went to Best Buy and Nexcom with Terry. At nexcom I exchanged Chris' broken motherboard for a new one after some creative sticker modification. Also terry bought a printer at Best buy for $50 after rebate. It is a really nice printer too 1200x1200 and dual cartridge I still don't understand how it was so cheap. It's kind of large footprint though so i didn't buy it. Then terry tried to switch-a-roo a TV card but he couldn't, so I tested the TV card and it's fine so maybe terry is a moron (that is what you get for all those little va-503+ cracks). Anyway that was fun then AMD went up another 11/16 even on a down day for pretty much all stocks. Made myself another $70 or so. Tommorrow I'm gonna work at developmentor again for a few hours. well I'll probably get $35 or so so it's cool. Then me and Jason might stop by alan's net party to leech food.

My stock is already up 7/16 since I bought it 4 days ago. That's like 40 cents times 140 shares. Sure beats friggin 1.2% Bank of America interest. Also I got my credit card. I've got this cool MBNA platinum plus VISA. It has palm trees on it. Cool. Plus I get points or something if I spend with it.

Now that I've had a little "conversation" with my mom I can say that though I might miss her once in a while (maybe once a week) the amount of verbal abuse I will not have to suffer through will make up for it 20 times over. Damn she's such a bitch. Like if I don't even agree with her every opinion she says it's disrespecting her. Then she keeps reminding me of like the two things I did wrong on my UCLA app. I think I put my birthdate as 1/17/98 on one part and I forgot to put in my AP scores. So she says "if it weren't for me you wouldn't even have gotten into college". Fuck that. I really don't think it would have mattered that much. And she keeps saying my essay was crappy even though my English teacher said it was really good. So after I won that argument she say i'm irresponisible because my room is messy. First off what does responisibility have to do with messyness. And secondly my room isn't that messy, ask Jason or Chris they think its real neat. All this started because I couldn't find this one paper from UCLA that had like the estimated costs of one year there. So I have all my UCLA stuff in this binder. I gave her like 2 other papers that I thought were what she wanted and she said no. So she came in my room and got mad because it was "messy" and then looked through the binder for like 5 minutes and found it and like it was just this think like 2" by 1" on one piece of paper that she had hilighted. And then I said I didn't remember seeing that paper. So she says like that I don't care about how much college costs and I saw well I know it's like 4000 tuition. And she makes something up like she needed to know exactly how much and it was like 4056. Then she says I'm irresponsible again because all my UCLA papers are just stuffed in a binder. So i say "what do you want me to do hole punch them all with dividers that say "the paper with the cost estimate." And it's true, it was organized. All the UCLA papers were in one place, how much more organized can it get. So she gets more mad and finally storms out of my room with this little folder that was in the binder and the paper and like a minute later she comes back and goes "Why am I even looking at this , why should I pay for you college?" or something like that. And she threw the papers and crap on the floor. And I'm thinking you know if someone would lend me the money then I'd gladly pay for it. Of course I'm not eligible for any kind of student loan since my parent make a lot. And worst off during the whole thing I also had an argument with her about my window being open. She said like someone could see that and rob us and I'm like that's insane. And she says "well you should just be cautious" and i'm like thats crazy "why don't you just not drive, you could get in an accident." Damn she's like PMSed out all the time.

Anyone wanna buy this stuff I've got. I've got a compaq presario p100. It has a fan/heatsink, 32mb edo ram and 540mb hard drive. Also has a 4x panasonic cdom. It overclocks to 120 and has built in 1mb s3 trio 64, and an ess 1688 sound card. 4mb PCI ATI 3dxpression + PC2tv. It has tv out, a rage 2 chipset, and 4mb video ram. Pretty good for a cheapo box. I've got a diamond wavetable ISA sound card with built in scsi. No manual. Make me an offer cash or more likely trade.

Also Chris' computer is stable enough to my standards. It doesn't crash ever, and TCP/IP is working at randy's house. Network transfers seemed sort of slow on the crossover cable. BTW Chris' it works with your netgear card so I switched it back. It autodetects in Windows98 SE as an Intel 21140 ethernet card since Intel bought digital. Your system is now probably as stable as any computer you've ever had.

Well I bought my first stocks today. I bought AMD at 16 and 3/8 but I had to pay the ask price which is 15 and 7/16. I guess the extra 1/16 goes to the brokerage. Anyways I figured the price had bottommed out because the Fed had said they were gonna increase interest rates, and AMD had already reported their bad earnings / CEO leaving. So it dropped another 1/4 to 16 1/8. I think people were selling off because it is friday and a lot of people don't want to worry about the open on monday. So I lost about $40 already. Hopefully it'll go up leading up to the Athlon launch like I thought. If it goes up to $18 or so I'll have made $230 and might quit there. Might wait till it hits 20 depends how it goes. I bought 140 shares which is $2300 worth (well it was $2300 it is $2250 about now). Damn stock going down. Matt says I should get out now, but I think I'll stick with it until the athlon launch 3 weeks from now. If they announce Gateway will use it then it'll soar.

This JFK "tragedy" crap is just stupid. I mean the man deserved to die. No , I am not afraid to say that. Most people apparently are. First off if you are an idiot and stand on the railroad tracks when you know a train is coming soon and have the balls to think you can dodge that train then you are an idiot and if you die then people will say it was because you were an idiot. Same thing here. The man has 40 some odd hours of flight experience, it is dark, it's foggy and cloudy and he's just recovered from a broken foot (obviously this would make him "rusty"). This is the train coming. And yet JFK jr. has the balls to fly (for all you idiots out there, this is like trying to dodge the train). So he's an idiot and now he's dead because of it. Now lets all learn something from this. Don't be a fucking idiot. Tragedy my ass! If someone flew a plane into those three when they were sitting in the park or something I'd call it a tragedy. I feel sorry for those two Bessette sisters that they let this arrogant moron kill them.

In less controversial news, I fixed Chris' computer. I replaced his board with the one from my brothers computer. It works, now. Network works, soundcard works after I disabled its onboard IDE (I think this was the problem in the first place. Plus this is all in Win 98 SE. I still have no idea what happened to the old board. Also Chris, your modem is seriously broken, so I took a supraexpress 28.8 which is the same design as your 33.6 , switched bios chips and viola you have a working modem. It connected at 31.2 once but it still detects as a 28.8 in plug and play.

Well I got a confirmation email from suretrade that my money has been deposited. Looks like I'll be a daytrader now. If any of you want to start investing you should try suretrade it's only $8 a trade and it's backed by Fleet bank (as in Fleet center where the boston celtics play)

I also looked at Chris' board again. Seems a trace broke on the back of the board under the bios chip. Well at least this means I didn't break it since it was on the back. What a piece of shit board that was. Well there still is the possibility that a short could have caused that trace to melt making it break. I also tested the Diamond Stealth card that i suspected of doing all the damage and well it's okay I guess. It works on my compaq. I think the short could have happened because the PCI slots were really loose for some reason and maybe the cards moved but i'm still doubting that.

Well I was bored and took Chris' computer to try to make it work. I took out his hard drive, and formatted his linux drive. Everything was going well, until after win98 SE was installed. I installed the network drivers and then windows suddenly wouldn't boot anymore. So I took out the voodoo2 and network card and it still wouldn't boot. I then reset the cmos battery and it booted again. No video though. So i thought the video card was broke so I put in a spare rage2 one. It started working so i was happy. Then I put back the diamond stealt 3d 2000 and well a burning smell came out. So the board burned out and i'm ready to blame the graphics board. Anyways Chris' files and crap are all safe on his other drive since i disconnected it. But anyways i'm gonna go to Fry's on saturday after working at developmentor (thank you Jason). So I've gotta shell out $75+. But I'll probably switch a roo anyways. Oh well. Piece of shit overmind.

In the non-computer news of the day I went to randy's. He got a new sofa. Also I went driving with South Bay driving school again. I think I'm getting to be a really good driver now. I went to south central LA mostly. I saw some parts that are still being rebuilt from after the riots. I also went to inglewood, really near the forum, and hawthorne. Inglewood and Hawthorne weren't that bad. But South Central had lots of hookers or so the driving instructor said. And there are always motels, churches and liquor stores clustered together. Meaning if you see a church then there is a motel and a liquor store not far away.

Well I took bleem down off the files page. It was old and it sucks. I tried the new 1.2 version and well it played one game, only Final Fantasy Tactics. I thought the game sucked. Playstation sucks. One thing i did find out is that it plays burned games. Bust a Groove didn't really work right. It looked like a dumb concept of a game. I tried to start a game and it looked like it was some fighting game, but terry told me you are supposed to dance and well that sounds even gayer. Also I finally archived my June news.

I downloaded Q3test2 and well here are some timedemo results for you. These are at "normal" graphic settings on Q3testdemo1. BTW to run timedemo you just have to type: timedemo 1

You can also put q3testdemo2.dm3 for a different demo. The timedemo results are below. These are run on my k6-2/450 , 192mb ram, and ATI rage128 16mb 110/130 clock. Tests were run with the CD21 Special q3test ATI drivers version 6664 at 32-bit color

640x480 - 29.9 fps
1024x768 - 19.5 fps
Also the new drivers are finally 3dnow! optimized. The older release candidate non-beta 6114 CD20 drivers only got 24.2 fps at 640x480. So 3dnow! is adding a 25% improvement.

Well I drove the Camry today. It's much better than that Corolla from the driving school. I got Windows98 SE from Jason and installed it. Not really any improvement over regular 98. Also installed Visual C++ from Jason. Lastly I installed my new network card. It's a 3com 100mb/s. thanks Jason yet again. Oh BTW homeworld has got to be the greatest game on earth. Saw that at Jason's. I've got an extra 100mb/sec network card now. Chris is you get to read this ever you can have it for free. Should solve your problems you cheapskate. Oh also what was wierd was we were at a 7-11 today and Mrs. Elduayen walked in. She didn't even notice me or Jason. She went straight to the counter and bought cigrettes. Damn she is an addict. I mean she smelled like that all the time in Spanish. We went in Jason's car and watched her while we were eating and she like lit one up the minute she got in. It was so wierd we were like on 5th street and PCH.

I went to driving school today. I drove for 2 hours to like Gardena and El Camino and that Ghetto area. It was pretty fun. I might actually get a license by the end of the summer. Wow

Well I found lemmings paintball. I found it at this site that has links to 1000s of the old school games. They are called abandonware now. Here is the site, it is a must see. You can get all those old Quest games, all the wing commanders, just about anything you can think of that they had between 1985-1993 and they will have it.

I saw Big Daddy yesterday with Jason. That was a good movie. I give it 4 out of 5 stars, only because there were some corny scenes. It was really funny. I also got Lemmings. Just extract it and then run lemcrack.bat to play. Quite possibly one of the greatest games ever. I once bought this game when I was in 4th grade. My dad actually got it for me for Christmas. It was so addicting me and my dad played it for 5 hours after I opened it. Matt came once and played it and Lemmings may have sparked his interest in computers. It is an awesome game much better than all the stupid 3d FPSes ever made combined. This includes Quake, Quake2, Quake 3, Halflife, etc. Of course it doesn't include DOOM and Wolf3d because those aren't 3D. Damn this is a good game, and it's less than 500k. That reminds me, that idiot Mike Doolittle borrowed the game before I could beat it. Bastard lets someone else borrow the game. You just don't let other people borrow stuff you borrowed. Anyway he lost it and I never got to beat this game, but now I think I will after an 8 year haitus. Anyway I really want to get Lemmings Paintball now because it includes the original lemmings and oh! no more lemmings (100 more levels!). Lemmings paintball sucks, I played the demo. Either that or I want Lemmings Chronicles, or lemmings tribes, or lemmings 3d. Of course I searched all over the internet, they just don't have these games anymore, too old I guess. Well if anyone has any of these games, hook me up.

Well the 4th of July is over. I didn't go to see the fireworks. The look the same every year. My cousing finally got a new computer. My grandma bought it for them. They got a celeron 333 with 64mb ram, so they can actually play games now. Dennis looks a lot more like a basketball player now. Too bad he isn't playing any better. He even ad the Nike shorts and those Nike shoes that look like astronaut shoes. Damn there really isn't anything to post about. I went crazy and switched the casings of me and my brothers monitors today. There were a bunch of scratches and stuff on mine from when it got stuck in Juney's trunk a few months ago. And I also fixed Jason's broken trackman marble with the ever so handy soldering iron. Ack. Everything on my computer works. nothing to do. I'm going to call the south bay driving school this week probably since, I'll probably be bored. I'll get them to pick me up and take me driving I guess. It'll be even more boring since Chris'll be in Japan. One less person to see.

Been a while since the last update. Well not much to talk about. Well I broke my motherboard when I was switching cases. Got a new one. I've got TA kingdoms and phantom menace movie now. Cutco sucks I think. TA Kingdoms needs way too much ram. Jason and Chris went to Yosemite. Me and Terry have been wandering around. Damn it's boring. I gotta get myself a visual C++ book.
