Ok, you've downloaded #pirch and ran the exe, and you're asking "Now what?". Once you have the server window up you need to click on the login button . You will see a window open like the one below . By clicking on the down arrows you can choose from a variety of irc networks and the servers they support. You need to fill in the Personal Info (don't use your real name or email address unless you want everyone on irc to know it!), choose a nickname and an alternate one (in case your first choice is already taken), click in the Auto Connect box, then click on Connect. Now you are on irc and ready to chat! See how easy it was?




Here are a few tips.

If you have more than one person using this program, click on the Save Profile button after you fill out your info. Pirch allows you to save all of the info you just filled out as your personal profile, giving each profile you save a name of your choice. This will save alot of typing each time you login to irc. To use the profile you just click Load Profile and a new window will open, in it you will see the profile (or profiles) you saved, hilite one and choose open. A few mouse clicks is much easier than filling out the info again. Besides, you need to save your fingers for all of the chatting you are going to do.

Next, if you don't want someone to be able to find you by doing a /whois (we'll get to this later) on you need to put a check in the Invisible On Server box.
