Many of those who did agree point a finger at Java and the Internet as ultimately being the the sole development environment for everyone.

Those who did not agree were more varied in their reply and a large percentage left this field blank. Of those who did fill the comment field, the two major lines of reasoning were:

  1. No development tool can be that universal

  2. Computing is dynamic and will change as new development crop up.
