Nation’s Top 10 Hospitals Using Database Technology from InterSystems

 

CAMBRIDGE, MA-- July 27, 1998-- All of the hospitals ranked in the top 10 in U.S. News & World Report magazine‘s 1998 annual hospital survey use InterSystems Corporation‘s database technology, InterSystems announced today.

“We are pleased to note that, again this year, the top 10 hospitals on the U.S. News & World Report ‘Best Hospitals Honor Roll’ are all using DBMS technology from InterSystems,” says Paul Grabscheid, vice president of strategic planning. “These healthcare institutions, with world-class reputations for excellence, use the best tools available to maintain their preeminence. For database management, it’s clear that InterSystems technology is a top choice.”

U.S. News & World Report surveyed 131 hospitals for 16 medical specialties such as cardiology, pediatrics and gynecology. To be considered for the Honor Roll, a hospital had to score significantly above the national mean in at least six of those 16 specialties.

Based on the survey, the top 10 hospitals in America, all using InterSystems database technology, are: Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore; Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN; Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston; Duke University Medical Center, Durham; UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles; Cleveland Clinic (OH); Stanford University Hospital (CA); Brigham and Women‘s Hospital, Boston; Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis; and University of California San Francisco Medical Center.
