The Manufactured Housing Association of Maine (MHAM) is a non-profit state trade association with ties to all segments of the manufactured housing industry, including manufactured home builders, suppliers, retailers, community developers, owners, managers, insurers, and financial service companies.The MHAM works to increase and improve financing options, promote a positive image of manufactured housing, provide technical analysis and counsel, and lobby for laws which remove barriers to the industry.

Turnpike Construction Major Concern for Delivery. The Maine Department of Transportation announced that trucks hauling wide loads must be cleared by the State Police before proceding through the Maine Turnpike. Construction due to the widening has limited the width of trucks to ten feet without coordinating for police escort through the Freeport area.Trucking contractor Paul Meader has asked the MHAM to investigate options with the DOT and State Police to have this limitation increased to twelve feet. It is his opinion that loads this wide can pass the construction area safely without need for escort.
