If
NTN ever decided to make a next generation system or control box,
what would it include? This page will try to pinpoint some good ideas that
might end up in Carlsbad California (NTN Headquarters) someday. These are
just my personal ideas, but if you have some ideas of your own, I'll add
them to this page. So, wihtout any further ado, here are the ideas so far...
CHAT
NTN
has a chat feature already in the online version of the game, but for the
chat feature to work that effectively, the screen would have to be larger
to fit more lines in. If, however you could only chat with one player at
a time, that might work, something like this:
TOP
10 LISTS
In
every NTN game played, there is a top 10 local list, but sometimes we miss
that list, or we just want to see what score can beat the top 10. in this
case, players could enter the game they want, like this:
RECHARGE
IT!
It's
a busy Friday night at your favorite NTN location, the only box left is
lit up red. You feel you have no choice but to pray it lasts at least
one game. you are doing well, you're on top, and suddenly your box says
"OUT OF RANGE." A common symptom of low battery power. This problem has
haunted us for a long time. I've even seen fellow players stand beside
the recharger and put it in during every break. A futile attempt unfortunately.
If NTN were to create a Next-gen box, it could include a port on the side
of it for a small plug which could be used to keep it charged, just like
other devices such as laptops. Observe:
Of
course the one problem with these ideas, is most peole could only take
advantage of them between gameplay, during breaks, between games etc.
But if there ever comes a time when NTN decides it needs a new box, leave
it to them to make it more compatible with functions like these.
