Landing on the desolate planet of Batna was one of the most difficult events in my young life. We found ourselves upon cold, dry, and heartless world that seemed to dampen the high spirits we held during our journey. Yet, we immediately began to labor to forget our dispair. As one of the two leaders inserted to ensure success of the colony, I worked endless hours planning the harvest and management of the scarce resources allocated to us. My colleague Sean St. Cin and I matured beyond our years through the harsh realities we faced. For we were merely Star Captains leading not binaries or trinaries of mechs, but hundreds of technicians, merchants, and common workers. I hoped that this clan, Clan Thunder Cat, would be distinct from all other clans in the sense of castes. Never would our clan be involved in inner-styfe or conflicts between the castes. For this we wish and for this we received.
-A passage from the Personal Writings of Khan Alex Eng
Alex Eng was born on the planet Vega, located in the Clan Wolf occupational zone. Raised as a Sibko child in the Eugenics program, Alex grew up in the usual fashion of the warrior caste. He began his training to become a mechwarrior earlier than most children for one frightful reason. Both of his parents were slaughtered during Clan Wolf’s struggle against Clan Nova Cat, when their star was ambushed by a whole trinary of omnimechs. Though fighting valiantly, both of Alex’s parents perished to allow the rest of the star to escape. Upon news of his parent’s deaths, Alex grew a seed of hatred that to this day he tries to relieve himself of. His anger and hatred also brought upon a zealous loyalty to the clan. Once reaching the ripe age of 16, he acquired the rank of mechwarrior and the youngest to do so in clan history. While in cadet training, he befriended a tall, young man named Sean St. Cin. Although extremely different in stature, both shared the will to become mechwarriors and fight for Clan Wolf. Alex and Sean graduated in the same class and moved on to their different paths.
Alex Eng proved to be a formidable foe on the battlefield for the next 3 years, destroying everything that stood in his wake. His superiors were pleased and he rose to the rank of Star Captain though Trials of Position. On his 20th birthday, Alex experienced the most powerful event of his life. Approached by Khan Natasha Kerensky herself, Alex was assigned to a mission much more difficult than he had ever faced on the battlefield. He was to be in charge of a new order amongst clans, Clan Thunder Cat. At this time, he would also be united with his friend Sean St. Cin, would was to assist Alex in his endeavor. He would have never thought of what lied ahead of him.....
As Khan of Clan Thunder Cat, Alex Eng has rised to prominence among the Clans’ Khans. Victory over Clan Ghost Bear has brought him new wealth he has always yearned to aquire. As the mother clan of Clan Thunder Cat, Clan Wolf awarded the Thunder Cats with the planets of Anlavs, Rljetka, Tuzla, and Struvs 2398. These planets, including the homeworld of Batna, serve as the new Clan Thunder Cat occupational zone. Quote: “Its not the dog in the fight, its the fight in the dog.”
Upon arrival at the Bakerhead Advanced Training Center on Zenica, I knew my destiny had come full circle. As a green cadet in the Clan Wolf touman, life was very difficult to swallow. The commanding officers were constantly breathing down our intimidated necks. This was all planned accordingly by clan military specialists. And it worked. The “plan” was to toughen the cadets into a formidable fighting force that was unstoppable. The constant ridicule and stringent rules hardened our mentalities and would later help us endure the harsh realities of battle. The training also whipped the cadets closer together as a group. We learned to rely upon each other during critical wargames and combat simulations. None of us would allow a starmate to be abandoned or sacrifice if not needed. Only the good of the unit itself was held in higher regards. The days at the Center will always be remembered.
- A passage from the Personal Writings of saKhan Sean St. Cin
Sean St. Cin was born on the planet Palermo, near the occupational zone of Clan Nova Cat. When his eugenics generation was preped for seperation for the touman, Sean was placed with the elite cadre of children bred for the elemental infantry of Clan Wolf. Sean initial showed enormous potential to become a fierce and tough infantryman. He exceled above all his peers with his physical and athletic prowess. However, a genetic flaw would prove to be the youth’s undoing. When Sean turned the ripe age of 13, he contracted Malider’s Disease, an ailment that sadistically struck without warning. The disease systematically drained energy and kept the victims weigh below normal standards. Sean shrank from a hulking 290 pounds to a slender frame of 175 pounds, too thin to withstand the vigorous punishment elemental training would demand. Fortunately, Star Colonel Tad Wilson refused to give up on the youth and requested a reassignment to the mechwarrior training division instead. “We cannot throw away this young man like a piece of meat just because of a childhood disease! He deserves a second chance.”
Sean arrived two weeks later at the mechwarrior training center on Vega. It was there that he met the future Khan of Clan Thunder Cat, Alex Eng. Both shared an odd interest in the ancient martial art called Taekwondo. Other classmates laughed at the two as they practiced their kicks. But their reaction skills exeled quicker than their peers and they got the last laugh. Sean graduated with high honors and would soon realize the term “blood bath”. His first assignment at Wexford, a newly captured planet won from Clan Mongoose, where life was dull and extremely boring for the first month. By the third month, Sean was so unimpressed with his station that he requested a reassignment. One week before leaving, Clan Mongoose began an offensive to recapture all of its loss territories. With Wexford being the focal point of the main thrust, it would prove to become a killing ground. His cluster, the 22nd Wolf Guardians, took immense pounding from Clan Mongoose forces. Sean learned valuable survival skills as his cluster struggled to stop a larger force. If they failed, Clan Mongoose would surely take Wexford and others with their momentum. For two days, Sean held out against the Mongoose onslaught until reinforcements arrived and as the Star Captain of his unit, provided a bastion of hope and strength. After the arrival of Star Colonel Athen Kederk’s 328th Assault Cluster and the defeat of the Mongooses, Sean finally received the reassignment he requested. Khan Natasha Kerenky paired him up with his old friend Alex Eng to form a new, secretive clan to preserve the Warden heritage. Under his leadership, Butna became a flourishing wasteland and home to Clan Thunder Cat. His legacy will help led Clan Thunder Cat into a great future and as a powerful clan .

Quote: “Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough,
we must do.”
I remember the horrific atrocities my family and I endured at the trecherous hands of Clan Jade Falcon genetic engineers. We were stripped of our pride, our heritage, and our honor. Putrid injections of experimental genetic materials felled many of my neighbors. Constant electrical shocks from Jade Falcon guards forced our poor masses in line and discipline. Day after day, more of us fell from the injections of deadly material. Then came the day when my parents fell also. Utterly deranged and furious, I leashed out at my captors who imprsioned us so efficiently. After my escape from the compound, I found out that the rest of my village was destroyed and all were massacred. Death to all Jade Falcon, this is my goal, this will be my wraith!
-A passage from the Personal Writings of Galaxy Commander Ryan Benech
Ryan Benech was born on the fertile planet of Sulla, near the Jade Falcon Occupational Zone. Ryan was an inbred freebirth, as were his parents. They was simple farmers of the laborer caste, the lowest caste of clan society. He enjoyed a simple but happy childhood on the farm and studied many subjects, including clan history, to better himself. Ryan hoped that he would someday rise beyond his birthrite limits and enter the warrior caste. This dream would soon be crushed.
A secret operation carried out by Clan Jade Falcon operatives would aim at Ryan’s farming community. The Jade Falcons destroyed the village and kidnapped all of its inhabitants, including Ryan’s family. After sacking the village, they burned it to the ground so no evidence of their intrusive presence remained. Later, these Clan Wolf citizens would become part of a disastrious experiment to heighten freebirth physical abilities. Ryan’s community, one of Clan Wolf, would be used instead of Jade Falcon citizens to spare unwanted sacrifices. Once exiled on a prison world, the Jade Falcons performed experiments and torture test to examine the peoples’ wills and tolerences. Unknown to Ryan and his family, they were injected with genetic material and given substances hidden within their food. After some time, Ryan noticed that his senses were heightened and his athletc ability progressed to superhuman levels. But the drugs and genetic materials caused terrible side effects that the Jade Falcons could not cure. Eventually, the prisoners began to fall ill and days later, die. Of the original 300 people in Ryan’s community, only five people survived after 3 months. Finally, the adolencence’s parents also perished in the experiments. As the only survivor, Ryan was determined to escape and warn Clan Wolf officials. More Clan Wolf citizens by the hundreds were kidnapped and herded into the crowded prisons. Ryan hurried and built a subspace transmitter to contact Clan Wolf before more would die. Using a low-level frequency to mask the source of transmission, Ryan was able to contact a Clan Wolf patrol near Basel and explained his dire situation.
The patrol alerted the Command Supernova in the area and assemble a strike force to free the prisoners. As the truth was revealed, the Jade Falcons denied any knowledge and refered to the engineers as rogue bandits. Without confrontation, the prisoners were freed. Ryan was left an orphan at the tender age of 15. After being granted a special spot in mechwarrior training for his role in freeing his fellow citizens, Ryan showed his true talents. His superhuman talents even impressed his Sibko instructors. He became a favorite student to all mechwarrior instructors who taught him and was considered for a bloodname by the Kuraltai when he displayed enormous talent. He was the first freebirth to earn a bloodname since the famous Phalen Ward. Ryan would later be posted with numerous units spread accross the occupational zone. This taught him the diversity that existed with in the touman. When personally called for by Khan Natasha Kerensky, Ryan was later assigned to a new mission. One that was beyond his dream. His mission was to nuture a new clan out of fledgingism and into maturity. As Clan Wolf’s senior Galaxy Commander, Ryan Benech is prepared and yearns for the right to destroy the Jade Falcons!
