I live in the country about four miles outside of the city of Mauston, WI exit 69 on Interstate 90-94, about 20 miles northwest of Wisconsin Dells. I built the house that I live in with my own hands and with the help of some of my friends.
I got started surfing the Internet in April, 1996 and since then I have upgraded the modem to 28,800 bps and then to 56k Flex (but that's another story), and replaced the motherboard in the computer to a Pentium 133, added a 2 Gig drive, CD-ROM drive, a HP Deskjet 682C color printer, a Sony Trinitron 15" monitor, an Iomega Jaz drive and recently I purchased a Microtek Scanmaker X6 flatbed scanner. Update: Jaz drive died and was replaced with a HP CD-Writer Plus. 2 Gig drive replaced with a 13Gig Drive. HP printer died and replaced with an Epson Stylus Color 740. Pentium 133 too slow now so motherboard replaced with Pentium 800 Mhz CPU. Motherboard has two USB ports so I got a Belkin Video Bus II to transfer video and sound from my Sony CamCorder. Works great!
Update: Had to put Luke II to sleep March 26, 2001 at 3:15 pm. Luke was my constant companion for over 14 years. He will be sadly missed.
I used a US Robotics Pilot Palmtop computer. It is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand or in your shirt pocket. There is no keyboard, you write in a special area using a special script called Grafitti. It is a sort of letter recognition system that lets you enter info into the screen. I used it as a daybook where I kept track of my daily activities and at the end of the week I printed out the week's activities for the manager. Worked great! PalmPilot. Fits in the palm of your hand. | |
In Loving Memory of Luke II Born November, 1986. Became my constant companion January 7, 1987. Passed on at 3:15 pm on March 26, 2001. My best friend for 14 years, 3 months. He will be greatly missed. |
I have a dog named Luke: He is about 10 years old. He is a cross between a yellow lab and a golden retriever, I figure him to be a golden lab! Anyway, he has the prettiest coat I have ever put my hand on. And he is smart! I've run out of things to teach him. And loyal. He never leaves my side. I don't have to worry about him in other people's houses. What more can I say: He's a good companion. |
