I'm beginning to think I'll never get rid of my tooth ache. I've had it now for almost 3 weeks. It took me 2 weeks just to get it pulled. I thought once it was pulled my life would go back to normal.....not! Hell, with my luck, I should have known I'd run into some sort of trouble. (lol) Sure enough, I ended up with "dry socket". For those of you (lucky) people out there who've never experienced a dry socket, you have no idea how incredibly painfull it is! Normally you get it packed with some medicated gauze, and a few days later you're up and running again. But you have to remember it's me we're talking about. Naturally I've had it packed 3 times already, and still another trip to the dentist is scheduled for Monday (the 9th).
For some reason the packing doesn't want to stay in, so I'm constantly poking at it with Q-tips (as suggested by the nurse), to keep the packing in there. This means that even though the packing contains a numbing agent, poking at it a million times a day fails to allow the numbing agent to work. Not only is the area where my tooth used to be sore as hell, the whole jaw is now swollen and very sore to the touch. The pain also radiates into my ear, making the whole right side of my face incredibly painfull. I've layed to my pain pills so much that I'm completely out of them.
