I've been on the phone all morning trying to find a dentist I could afford. For the last two days I've had a tooth that's been keeping me awake at night. I was hoping it was just a cavity....seems it's more along the lines of needing root canal or extraction.
When you don't have dental insurance and you live on disability getting your teeth fixed can be impossible to afford. In the last 3 years I've had 2 teeth that have needed root canal. With root canal costing $1500 my only option has been extraction...at a "measly" cost of $220. One of the teeth was a bottom tooth in the back, however the last one was a front tooth. I look like some hillbilly without teeth now. Adds to the sexy image of an overweight women (thanks to the meds) in a wheelchair with no teeth. Oh yeah, I can see it now, I'll be beating the men off with a stick!
