15 November 2005 Just back from a nice week in Munich so updated the mixtapes with the latest mix for our host and have plans to do another one pretty quickly. Currently using AllOfMp3.com to do some music sampling and finally got around to listening to the indie show on FreakFM Tuesdays 5-8pm 11 January 2004 Time to update before Yahoo pull the plug on me. Currently listening to bits and pieces radio-wise, mostly Tom Dunne and some John Kelly and then the odd show on Radio Friendly (R.I.P.) or The Green Room on 96FM. For a few months the landscape was totally changed by the discovery of Jay Ahern's Sunday night show on 2FM but alas all good things must come to an end. If you ever get a chance to listen to him on radio jump at it and P.S. let me know cos I'd like to be there too. Hang the DJ indeed.. 11th November 1999 Nadia has her page up and there is a page with some photos of Sophie. As you might imagine, I don't have so much time on my hands these days with the new arrival. If you want to listen to TodayFM you can now do so via Real Audio which is nice if you don't happen to be in the country. I recommend the new Business Show on Sunday mornings, but it may get earn grief with the other half. My other interest at the minute is following some tech stocks. As you might gather not all these stocks are to be recommended, Hello to those fellow Eircom masochists in the audience. 10th December 1998 Just finished reading another book about Richard Feynmann "What Do You Care What Other People Think?" which I really enjoyed. In it he talks more about his life and tells of his work on the commission investigating the explosion of the NASA space shuttle Challenger. The earlier book "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" is also highly recommended with lots of funny and thought provoking stories. 26th November 1998 In case you're wondering why on earth my site is in Silicon Valley well that's because I program by day. Right now it's Mac development and before that it was PC stuff for a crowd called SPEA Software in Starnberg now owned by Diamond. Well John Kelly has defected so I just have to content myself with Mr Dineen. Maybe Dave Fanning might get a look in now and again too. The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival and the Murphy's Cork International Film Festival were very good in case you didn't make it down. Must see about getting some new music, I had a wee look at the CDnow site and am tempted by Vic Chesnutt, Lambchop, Silver Jews, Beck and some stuff I've wanted to test drive a long time like Cake and Soul Coughing. Hmmm. If only CDs weren't so expensive here, it kills me especially after seeing how reasonable they are in the US, not to mention the used CD prices. For those of you looking for something to do in Cork try the Impromptu Guide Hope you're all listening to John Kelly and Donal Dineen on Radio Ireland (100-102FM) from 7pm till 12pm for some good music... |
