The Application Launchpad
Functions
The Application Launchpad allows a user to organise programs into folders
and have them ready for invocation. It hangs from the top of the screen.
Screenshots
This is what the default looks like:
Clicking on a Folder's tab brings it to the top. Double-clicking on a program
icon launches it.
A truly useful Operating System must support the following application
"suites":
Basic Suite
- Basic Tools - Text Editor, Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Database Lite
- Internet Access Tools - Web Browser, E-mail, Newsreader
- Desktop Accessories - Clock, Calendar, Calculator, Diary, Organiser
Family Suite
- Games
- Educational Software
- Multimedia Tools
Professional Suite
- Programming Environments
- Databases
- Internet Development Tools
More Tab Folders and more programs can of course be added, and others
dropped, but what is illustrated is my opinion of "necessary" programs,
which should be provided by default, when the system is first set up.
