For 4 weeks our cars took me and 4 frineds to many places in California, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona. After that I went by Greyhound to St. Louis (53 hours on the bus!), then it took me to a little farmer village in Illinois and finally to Springfield and Chicago. Chris' USA Travel Page
The following pictures are just a small choice out of hundreds. We were especially interested in National Parks. So we went to Redwood, Craters of the moon, Lasson Volcanic, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Arches, Mesa Verde, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon and Yosemite.
Furthermore we visited some cities such as San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.
In Yellowstone National Park we saw Old Faithful and lots of other hot springs; bears, deer, wisents and so on. We had a nice bath in an unusually warm waterfall.
Grand Teton National Park, where we did...
...horse back riding.
In Lasson Volcanic National Park we found lots of snow and an isolation mattress served as a sledge.
We didn't smoke a Marlboro in Monument Valley, but
we flew over and hiked into the Grand Canyon. We went down on Bright Angel and up on South Kaibab trail as we didn't take the time to read the advice in the paper that we got from the visitor center. I can not recommend that to anyone and I wouldn't do that again...

San Francisco. Here you see a view from a cable car stop on Alcatraz.
