Hi, I'm Saycat...

I'm Indian to start with, and come from the City of Joy, Calcutta. I'm old at the moment and I'll update this figure honestly, on the 17th of May, every year. In fact being a programmer, I could'nt resist making the update dynamic and what you see is my current age, correct to the day. I looked down upon most fellow Indians from my stately height of 6' at one time, Indians tending to call it quits at an average of 5'7". I realize now of course, that this is quite normal for the rest of the world. In fact, the other day a very conversational weighing machine labelled me, a small individual!! I had to admit of course, considering the normal growth rates for New Zealanders(for I'm in New Zealand at the moment), this was not entirely unjustified. I tip the scales at about 80 Kilos, and I've already started to wage the Battle of the Bulge. The idea of living my life as a bachelor is still an appealing one, although I'm not at all averse to feminine company.




I have one brother, and the normal quota of parents. Had I been allowed to have my own way, I would have been trying to eke out a precarious living selling hand made cartoon stickers by now. However, my mother and father, who are a fairly strong pair, prevailed upon me to exert myself, and today, thanks to them, I'm an Electrical Engineer.




I studied in Calcutta's South Point High (which figures in the record books for being the school with the most students) for most of my student life. This, I followed up with a 4 year stint at Jadavpur University Calcutta. Currently I'm working for a company called ICIL, and am in New Zealand on a project for an associated company, Fujitsu New Zealand. Of course I'm not working as an Electrical Engineer but rather, as a software developer. In fact I'm working on a hospital management software called Hospro.



My Passions :

• Playing chess badly
• Singing in the bathroom
• Collecting trivia related to Garfield the fat cat
• Programming (I'd like to say like a genius, but alas that would be lying)

My Strengths :

• I have started on a quest for these elusive creatures quite some time back and shall be updating this section the moment I succeed
• I can snore like a lion

My Weaknesses :

• Unfortunately the quest for these, proved to be short and so embarrassingly fruitful that I would be imposing upon any visitor's sensibilities in trying to list them all.

To complete the introduction, here's a passably good impression of what I look like. My mother, had dearly wanted a girl when I was about to be born, and now even you can agree, that she could not have been overly pleased with the output. While I agree that the photograph does not do me full justice, I cannot say that its an entirely false representation either.
