My pet project...
I'm a systems developer and programmer by trade. During the daytime I work on websites... in my spare free time I am working on a Visual Programmer for the digital modeling amplifier I own (more about that at my guitar page.)
Anyone not interested? Feel free to leave now *lol*
You can download the BETA version now (Windows95/98/NT, complete setup, 2.5mb zipfile).
(Some people told me they had some problems downloading... this is a new
setup, so try again please and tell me what happened?)
If you do download it, please tell me by email what you think of it and any bugs you may find or suggestions you have
The program uses the MIDI capabilities of the amp to load preset files ("channels"), modify them, print soundsheets and save and/or write them back to the amp.
I don't know if anyone really wants or needs this, but hey, it keeps me out of mischief *vbg*.
Here are some screen shots of what I did so far (sorry for the low res quality, but nobody would want to wait an hour until they're loaded, right?).
I suppose that you who are reading this knows the AX2(R) or AxSys(R). The part of the program pictured in the screen shot above gives you separate tabs for every function row. Here the parameters of the channel are displayed, and can be modified.
If you're like me, you can't really memorize all the amp types, distortion boxes and wah types that are modelled (this thing is *loaded*, after all...). So you can pop up a screen that gives you all available options for those three categories. An example looks like this... (the amp section is similar)
Wouldn't you love to get an easy hardcopy of a channel? Well, this tool can do that... and give some additional info, such as the file it is stored in (if any).
If you have any questions or suggestions, don't hesitate to email me... and watch this space for the next release...coming your way soon.... as are sound files in a format the program understands.
