Regarding "Holy blood, Holy Grail" and "The DaVinci Code"...

First I'd like to say that I am not an conspiracy theorist, or some fanatic that read the books (which I haven't yet) and seeks to credit/discredit. Media attention and an insane amount of material on the internet has just piqued my interest.

After viewing a high resolution image of Leonardo's painting of the  'Last Supper', I noticed a small detail directly above and between the figure of Jesus and the questionable Mary/John figure. Draw your own conclusions…but to me it lends a ‘little’ to the credibility of the 'Holy Blood Holy Grail' story and the tie between Leonardo and the existence of the Prieure de Sion.

I guess that it all boils down to what you believe or disbelieve...

What's more logical...a man with supernatural powers is born of a virgin, walks on water, heals by touch, dies for the sins of all humans, rises from the dead, and dictates that a male dominated religious power structure shall rule over the fate of all mankind.

or

A good man with a wife, a child, and a loyal following of close friends travels around the middle east spreading the word of peace and good will among men. Only to be thought a heretic by those in power (whom he denounces) and is put to death for it. He becomes a Martyr and a rallying point for those who wish to do good and is deified.

My money is on the latter...Organized Christian Corporations (i.e. the Catholic Church) would be the only ones to suffer from a truth like this...to everyone else (including most of the affore mentioned followers), it would be a blip in the news, a weeks worth of water cooler talk, and a late night over the top documentary by Fox or the BBC. The world just doesn't care anymore; we love the search for truth, but we bore easily when it's found...that's why the church doesn't want this to be true. "Religion is the never ending search for truth"...what control does organized religion have over its peons when the truth has been found.

I believe that people believe, but I believe what I believe.
